Result ll AN ORDINANCE
An ordinance to regulate the repapering and reoaloimining of
rooms.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
SECTION 1. It shall be unlawful for any person to paper or
calcimine a room or rooms whioh have previously been calcimined or
papered, without first removing all the old paper or calcimine that
may be on the walls or ceilings of said room or rooms, and to
thoroughly cleanse said walls before applying calcimine or hanging
paper thereon; provided, however, that in the case of sand finished,
concrete and rough lumber walls it shall not be necessary first to
remove calcimine therefrom, provided a coat of sanitary size is
applied before applying calcimine or hanging paper thereon. "Sanitary
size"shall be construed to mean any size used by the trade whioh
does not contain animal matter.
SECTION 2. Any person violating any of the provisions of this
ordinance shall upon conviction thereof, be punished by a fine in
any sum not exceeding 050.00, or by imprisonment in the city jail
for a period not longer than thirty days. The court may in imposing
a fine enter as a part of the judgment that in default of the pay-
ment of the fine, the defendant may be imprisoned in the city jail
for a period not exceeding thirty days.

SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first
publication.
