AN ORDINANCE Result • AN ORDINANCE AMEND/ING Title 25 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1955, entitled "Officers and Employees," by adding thereto a new chapter to be known as Chapter 18, to be entitled "Automobile Expenses," relating to the automobile expenses of officers and employees. Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. That Title 25 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1955, entitled "Officers and Employees," be, and the same hereby is, amended by adding thereto a new chapter to be known as Chapter 18, to be entitled "Automobile Expenses," relating to the auto- mobile expenses of officers and emplaoye s, to read as follows: "Sec. 25-18-1. City- owned automobiles Mall be provided for each member of the Board of Commissi-oners�for operation on official business F ;jti- Z of the City; provided, however, that in lieu of using a city- owned automotile n ffi_ci7a . business, a member of the Board of 010\• Commi asionersn , fffs ont sled to use a privately-owned f� � automobile, and in the event`aaj ee� so elects, no city- owned automobile shall be provided for him, but he shall be Cd1p,, reimbursed One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) per month for his expenses involved in the operation of a privately-owned auto- mobile on official business of the City. w✓-�(��C(a e. "Sec. 25-18-2. Other officers and employees. All of£icersAnd i t employees except members of the Board of Commissioners, O are authorized to use and who do use privately-owned automobiles for official City business shall be reimbursed for their operating expenses of said automobiles at the rate of 9 per mile for each mile actually traveled in official City business. Before payment is made to any officer or employee pursuant to the terms of this section, the use of the automobile must be authorized and the mileage traveled must be verified by the head of the department involved." SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners, it is necessary to the peace, health and safety of the inhabitants of Salt Lake City, Utah, that this ordinance become effective immediately.
