AN ORDINANCE AMENDING Section 18-1-9 of the Revised Ordinances of
Salt Lake City, Utah, 1955, as amended by Bill No. 111 of 1959, relating
to the organization and salaries of the Health Department, and amending
said section by deleting therefrom the office of Assistant Chief
Sanitarian and by adding a paragraph to the end of said section.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah.
SECTION I. That Section 18-1-9 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt
Lake City, Utah, 1955, as amended by Bill No. 111 of 1959, relating to
the organization and salaries of the Health Department, be, and the same
hereby is, amended to delete therefrom the office of Assistant Chief
Sanitarian and the salary relating thereto, and that said ordinance be,
and the same is hereby further amended by adding a paragraph to the end
of said section to read as follows:
"provided further, that all in-grade promotions shall be
contingent upon full compliance with the rules and regu-
lations of the Civil Service Commission upon examination
and ascertained merit."
SECTION 2. in the opinion of the Board of Commissioners, it is
necessary to the peace, health and safety of the inhabitants of Salt Lake
City that this ordinance become effective immediately.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first publication.
Passec by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, this
25th day of April , 1961 .
