AN ORDINANCE AMENDING Section 1661 of the Revised Or-
dinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1920, relating to second hand
and junk dealers.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lt3ke
City, Utah.
SECTION I. That Section 1661 of the Revised Ordinances
of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1920, relating to second hand and junk
dealers, be, and the same is, hereby amended so as to read as follows:
Section 1661. JUNK DEAL S TO KEEP BOOK. It shall
be unlawful for any second hand or junk dealer to fail to keep
a substantial and well bound book, in which he shall enter at the
time of purchase, in the 11iglish language:
First. A true and accurate description of every article
purchased by him.
Second. The name, age, description and residence of the
vendor.
Third. The amount paid.
Fourth. The date and hour of purchase.
All entries shall be made with ink in a legible manner, and
all records of second hand dealers and junk dealers shall be
open to inspection by any police officer at any time.

It shall be unlawful for any second hand or junk deals
to deliver to the person selling or delivering any of the
property mentioned in Sections 1658 and 1659 of the Revise
Ordinances of Salt Lake City of 1920, or to sell or other-
wise dispose of any of such property for the period of
fifteen days from the date of receiving the same, unless
expressly permitted to dispose of such property by the
Police Department,pr i or thereto.

SECTION II. This ordinance shall take effect thirty-
one days after its passage.
