Result
AN ORDINANCE LEVYING A TAX and for the assessment of
property for the establishing and opening of Redondo Avenue from
23rd East Street to 26th East Street in Salt Lake City (Street
Extension No. 9).
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt
Lake City, Utah:
SECTION I. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City does hereby levy a tax and provide for the assessment of the
same upon the property hereinafter described (Street Extension No.
9) for the establishing and opening of Redondo Avenue from 23rd
East Street to 26th East Street in Salt Lake City, Utah, to-wit:
Lots 2, 3, 7, 12, 13, 14, 16 to 19 incl., 24 to 28
incl., 30 to 35 incl., 37 to 46 incl., 48 to 55 incl., 67
to 75 incl., 77, 89 and 93, of Laurelhurst, a subdivision
of part of Block 5, 5 Acre Plat "C", Big Field Survey, and
SE 1/4 of Section 15, T. 1 S., R. 1 E., S. L. B. & M.; and
Lots 6 to 9 incl., and 11 to 18 incl., of Block 1, Lots 1
to 33 incl. and 36 to 42 incl. of Block 2, Lots 1 to 7 incl.
and 10 to 34 incl. of Block 3, Lots 1 to 8 incl. of Block 4,
Lots 1 to 5 incl. of Block 5, Lots 5 and 6 and 43 to 50 incl.

This tax is levied to defray the expense of opening said
street and acquiring by purchase the following described tracts of
land which have been acquired and lid to establish and open Redon-

do Avenue from 23rd East Street to 26th East Street, to-wit:
The south 7.0 feet of Lot 3, and the north 43.0 feet
of Lot 2, Laurelhurst Sub. of part of Block 5, 5 Acre Plat
"C", Big Field Survey, and part of Sec. 15, T. 1 S., R. 1
E., S. L. B. & M.
Lots 8 and 9, Block 3, Amended and Extended Plat of
Laurelhurst, being a subdivision of part of Sec. 15, T. 1
S., R. 1 E., S. L. B. & M.
The south 7.0 feet of Lot 1, Block 2, Amended and Ex-
tended Plat of Laurelhurst, being a subdivision of part of

the property hereinbefore and hereinafter described to be especial-
ly affected and benefited by said improvement, and it is hereby ad-
judged, determined and established that said property will be es-
pecially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby
levied and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an equal and
uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon said
portions of said, street fronting upon and to the entire depth back
therefrom not exceeding 330 feet, and the tax hereby levied and to

be assessed upon said parcels of land is Fourteen Thousand, One
Hundred Sixty-two and 50/100 ($14,162.50) Dollars or One and
023349/1000000 ($1.023349) Dollars per front or linear foot of abut-
ting property, there being 13,839.36 feet of abutting property with-
in the boundaries of the lots, blocks and streets above mentioned
in said district, which is the total cost and cost per front foot
of said street opening according to the contract entered into for
the purchase of said property and opening said street authorized
October 7, 1947, and the City Treasurer is hereby authorized and
directed to assess in accordance with the provisions of this ordi-
nance for the purpose herein mentioned:

There shall be an exemption for corner lots to be appor-
tioned as defined and provided for in the ordinances of Salt Lake
City.
SECTION 2. That the assessment list made by the City •
Treasurer, as corrected, approved and completed by the Board of
Equalization and Review of the property described in Section I of
this ordinance in Street Extension No. 9 of Salt Lake City, for the
purpose of establishing and opening said portion of said street,
is hereby confirmed, and the assessments iyade and returned in said

completed lists, and the report of the Board of Equalization and
Review to the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, are hereby
ratified, approved and confirmed.
SECTION 3. Said tax shall be payable in three equal year-
ly installments as provided by law and ordinance with interest on
the whole sum unpaid at the rate of five per cent per annum payable
at the time each installment is due. In the event any installment
or the interest aforesaid is not paid on the day the same becomes
due, the whole amount of the special tax unpaid.„at the time said
installment and interest are due shallbecome due and payable, and
.:shall draw interest at the rate of to per. cent per annum until the
sale of the property assessed.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shal12•take .effect one day after
its first publication. /
