Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. That Section 20-25-7 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to the prohibition of soliciting patronage upon streets, be, and the same hereby is, amended to read as follows: "Sec. 20-25-7. Soliciting patronage upon streets prohibited. It shall be unlawful for any person to solicit patronage for any hotel, lodging house, apartment house, restaurant or cafe, or to solicit patronage in or upon any public street or alley or other public place in Salt Lake City for any business purpose whatever or offer or agree in or upon any public street or alley or other public place in Salt Lake City to provide for another an escort service, parties, good times or other recreational activities for compensation; provided that the provisions of this section shall not be construed to prohibit any person duly licensed from soliciting such patronage for any business purpose whatever at terminals of public transportation carriers in the manner provided by law." SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, it is necessary to the peace, health and welfare of the inhabitants of Salt Lake City that this ordinance become effective immediately. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first publication. "(b) It shall be unlawful for any person to offer or agree to provide for another an escort service, parties, entertainment or other recreational activities in or upon any public street or alley or other public place in Salt Lake City for compensation regardless of the place or location at which said compensation is offered or agreed upon."
