Fonnesbeck / seconded that the City Council approve Bill No. 31 of 1980, rescinding
DePaulis Bill No. 17 of 1980, and reinacting Section 9-3-4 of the Revised
Shearer ✓ Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to proscribed
Davis / hours of dance regulations. This ordinance is to take effect upon

The Salt lake City Council, at its meeting this day, approved an ordinance-
BILL NO. 31 of 1980, rescinding Bill No. 17 of 1980, and retnaoting Section
9-3-4 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to
proscribed hours of dance regulations.
This ordinance will be published in the Deseret News April 19, 1980, and
shall take effect upon publication.

AN ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE RESCINDING Bill No. 17 of 1980 and reinacting
Section 9-3-4 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah,
1965, relating to proscribed hours of dance regulations.
Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City,
Utah:
SECTION 1. That Bill No. 17 of 1980 is hereby RESCINDED
and Section 9-3-4 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City,
Utah, 1965, relating to dance regulations, be, and the'same
hereby is, reinacted as follows:
Sec. 9-3-4. Proscribed hours. It shall be unlawful for
any person to conduct or maintain any dance within a dance
hall licensed by this title or, having charge or control thereof,
to allow or permit any such dance or dancing between the hours
of 1:00 o'clock a.m. and 8:00 o'clock a.m. of any day from
November 1 to April 30, inclusive, or between the hours of
2:00 o'clock a.m. and 8:00 o'clock a.m. of any day from
May 1 to October 31, inclusive, regardless of whether day-
light savings time may be in force and effect; provided,
however, that as an exception to the foregoing, dancing may
be permitted to continue until 2:00 o'clock a.m. on New
Year's Day.
SECTION 2. In the opinion of the City Council of Salt Lake
City, it is necessary to the peace, health and welfare of the
inhabitants of Salt Lake City that this ordinance become effective
immediately.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first
publication.
Passed by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah, this
17th day of April , 1980.
