Result AN ORDINANCE
An ordinance amending Chapter 45 of the Revised Ordinances
of Salt Lake City of 1913, by adding in and to said ohapter one
new section to be known as Section 1054x1.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt
Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That Chapter 45 of the Revised Ordinances of
Salt Lake City of 1913, be, and the same is hereby amended by
adding in and to said chapter one new section to be known as
Section 1054a1, said new section to read as follows:
SECTION 10547.1. It shall be unlawful for any person,
firm, assooiation or corporation owning, leasing or oon-
trolling as agent, any real property within the corporate
limits of Salt Lake City, upon which is erected any
building used in whole or in part as a hotel, apartment
house, rooming house, lodging house, tenement house or
club, to fail to place and maintain at the front of every
such building at the principal street entrance thereof, a
conspiououa plate or sign bearing the name and address of
the owner or owners of such building and the agent thereof.
If the owner of such building or real property is a
non-resident of Salt Lake City, such sign shall contain
the name of such owner and the name and address of the
resident manager or agent of such building or property.
If the building or real property is owned by a corpo-
ration or association, whose executive officers are
residents of Salt Lake City, such sign shall contain the
name of the president and the secretary or other managing
executive officer of such corporation or association.
If the building is leased or controlled by some person,
firm, corporation or association other than the owner or
ooaupant thereof, such sign shall contain the name of the
owner and the name of such person, the members of such
firm, or the president and secretary of such corporation or
association so controlling the building.
The letters or characters on such sign or plate shall
be of plain heavy faced Gothic type of not less than one
inch in height, and the sign or plate shall be so placed
that the names and addresses can be easily read by persons
passing along the street before such entrance.
When any building used for the purposes mentioned in
this section is owned by any person or persons other than
the owner or owners of the land upon which such building
stands, the provisions of this ar dinance shall apply to the
owner or owners of both the building and the land.
Whenever the title to any property contemplated in
this section shall be held in a representative capacity,
the name of the person, persons, corporation, estate or
association sustaining the representative relation to such
property shall be displayed upon the plate or sign required
by this section. If such representative shall be a non-
resident of Salt Lake City, the name and address of the
resident agent or manager shall also be placed upon such
sign.
Each day during which the sign or plate required by
this section is not maintained in accordance herewith,

shall be and constitute a separate offense.
Any person violating any of the provisions of this
section shall, upon conviction thereof, be punished by a
fine of not exceeding '$50.00, or by imprisonment in the
City Jail far a period of not longer than thirty days, or
by both such fine and imprisonment.{
