Result AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTyd'NS 4601 and 4604 of the Revised
Ordinances or Salt Lake City, Utah, 1944, relating to the police de-
partment.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That Sections 4601 and 4604 of the Revised Ordi-
nances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1944, relating to the police depart-
ment, be and the same are hereby amended to read as follows:
SEC. 4601. ORGANIZATION AND SALARIES. The Police Depart-
ment of Salt Lake City shall consist of the following officers,
whose annual salaries shall be as fixed by the Board of Commis-
sioners, within the limit specified:

SEC. 4604. RADIO TECHNICIAN AND OPERATORS. BOND. SALARY.
THERe is hereby created in the police department the offices
of radio technician and radio operatani
The head of the police department of Salt Lake City,
subject to the rules and regulations of the civil service com
mission, by and with the advise and consent of the board of
commissioners, may appoint from the classified civil service
list furnished by the civil service commission a competent
person to the office of radio technician. Before entering upo
the duties of this office, the radio technician shall give
bond for the faithful performance of his duties in the sum of
5000.00.
The radio technician shall have charge, under the genera
supervision and direction of the head of the police department,
of Salt Lake Cityls radio station and radio equipment. He
shall operate and maintain said equipment to conform with the
standards and requirements of the Federal radio commission an.
perform such other duties and comply with such rules and regu
lations as are or may be prescribed by law or ordinance or are
assigned to him by the head of the police department.
The chief radio technician shall receive a salary of not
to exceed $276U.00 per annum, payable semi-monthly.
The head of the police department of Salt Lake City, sub
ject to the rules and regulations of the civil service commis
sion, by and $ith the advice and consent of the board of com-
missioners, may appoint from the classified civil service lis
+ gyp furnished by the civil service commission such radio operator
as may be necessary for the proper conduct of the said radio
station. Each radio operator shall operate the equipment of
the said radio station and perform such other duties and com-
ply with such rules and regulations as directed by the chief
radio technician or the head of the police department.
Each radio operator shall give a bond in favor of Salt
Lake City for the faithful performance oz his duties in the s
of $1000.00.
Each radio operator shall receive an annual salary of no
to exceed $2520.00 per annum, payable semi-monthly.

it is necessary to the peace, health and safety of the inhabitant
of Salt Lake City that this ordinance shall take effect iniediatel .
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect at once upon
its first publication.
