AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 6155 of the Revised
Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1944, as amended by an ordinance
passed by the Board of Commissioners on November 23, 1949, relating
to traffic and travel on streets.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Labe
City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That Section 6155 of the Revised Ordinances of
Salt Lake City, Utah, 1944, as amended by an ordinance passed by
the Board of Commissioners on November 23, 1949, relating to traffic
and travel on streets, be and the same is hereby further amended by
amending item (1) of paragraph (c), which item shall read as follows:
CV "(1) Vehicular traffic facing the signal shall.stop at
the stop line or, in the absence of a stop line, then before
entering the nearest crosswalk at an intersection and shall
remain standing until 'Green' or 'Got is shown alone; provided,
that vehicular traffic stopped in the lane nearest the right
hand side of the street, unless prohibited by a sign, may
cautiously enter the intersection for the purpose of making a
turn to the right but shall not interfere with other traffic
nor endanger pedestrians lawfully within a crosswalk."
SECTION 2. In the opinion of the. Board of Commissioners,
it is necessary to the peace, health and safety of the inhabitants
of Salt Lake City that this ordinance become effective immediately.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effe upon its first
publication.
