AN ORDINANCE AMENDING Sections 19-3-4, 19-5-16 and 19-5-17,
Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to hours
for sale and consumption of beer and liquor.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City,
Utah:
SECTION 1. That Sections 19-3-4, 19-5-16 and 19-5-17 of the
Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to hours
for sale and consumption of beer and liquor be, and the same hereby are,
amended to read as follows:
"Sec. 19-3-14. Sale or disposition of beer between certain
hours unlawful. It shall be unlawful for any licensee or any
employee thereof to sell, dispose of, give away or deliver any
beer or to permit the consumption thereof on the licensed premises
between the hours of one a.m. (or two a.m. daylight savings time
when daylight savings time is in force and effect by law in Salt
Lake City, Utah) and seven a.m. of any day; provided, however,
that when New Year's Day falls on Monday the sale and consumption
of beer on licensed premises may be permitted until three a.m.
of said day as an exception to the foregoing requirement."
"Sec. 19-5-16. Hours for liquor consumption. It shall be
unlawful to possess or consume liquor on premises licensed under
this title between the hours of one a.m. (or two a.m. daylight
savings time when daylight savings time is in force and effect
by law in Salt Lake City, Utah) and seven a.m. of any day. It
shall be unlawful for any licensee, or operator or employee of
a licensee hereunder to permit any customer, guest or other person
to possess or consume liquor on the licensed premises between the
hours of one a.m. (or two a.m. daylight savings time when daylight
savings time is in force and effect by law in Salt Lake City, Utah)
and seven a.m. of any day. As an exception to the foregoing
requirements, liquor consumption may be permitted until three a.m.
on New Year's Day when New Year's Day falls on Monday."
"Sec. 19-5-17. Id. Private Clubs. It shall be unlawful
within the corporate limits of Salt Lake City for any non-profit
corporation bonded, regulated and being operated pursuant to the
authority of the provisions of Title 16, Chapter 6, Utah Code
Annotated 1953, or for any agent or employee thereof to serve or
mix liquor on said corporate premises or knowingly to permit

members, guests or any other person to consume liquor on
said corporate premises, or for any person to consume liquor
on said corporate premises between the hours of one a.m.
(or two a.m. daylight savings time when daylight savings time
is in force and effect by law in Salt Lake City, Utah) and
seven a.m. of any day; provided, however, that when New Year's
Day falls on Monday, liquor may be mixed, served and consumed
on said premises until three a.m. on said day as an exception
to the foregoing requirement."
SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners it is
necessary to the peace, health and welfare of the inhabitants of Salt
Lake City, Utah that this ordinance become effective immediately.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first
publication.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah,
this 13th day of June, 1967.
