AN ORDINANCE AMENDING Sec. 25-11-6 of the Revised Ordinances of
Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to grievance hearing procedure,
which ordinance was amended in error by Bill 23 of 1974.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City,
Utah:
SECTION 1. That Section 25-11-6 of the Revised Ordinances of
Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to grievance hearing procedure,
be, and the same hereby is amended to read as follows:
Sec. 25-11-6. Grievance hearing procedure. Any employee
who feels that he has a grievance which has not been
nisatis-ll
factorily adjusted may appeal to the appeal board
whold public hearings on all matters presented on appeal. Hear-
ings may be held during working hours. The appeal board and
all parties to a grievance dispute shall have the power tow ub-
poena and may call as witnesses at a hearing any persons
testimony may contribute to the adjustment of the grievance.
All parties to the alleged grievance shall be notified and have
the right to be heard at the hearing or to be represented by a
person of their own choosing. At the conclusion of the hearing,
the appeal board shall report its finding and decisions to the
parties involved and shall forward a copy to the city commission
who shall make the final decision.
SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners it is
necessary to the peace, health and welfare of the inhabitants of Salt
Lake City that this ordinance become effective immediately.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first pub-
lication.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah,
this 20th day of March, 1974.
