Result AN ORDINANCE
An ordinance amending Chapter 21 of the Revised Ordinances
of Salt Lake City of 1913, relating to dogs, by amending
Seotions 708 and 714 of said Chapter, and by adding in and to
said chapter a new section to be known as Seotion 713x1.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That Sections 708 and 714 of Chapter 21 of
the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City of 1913, relating to
dogs, be, and the same are hereby amended so as to read as
follows:
SECTION 708. OWNERS TO PROVIDE COLLARS. It shall
be the duty of the owners of all dogs so licensed to
provide said dogs with suitable collars with a metallic
plate or check attached thereto having a number corres-
ponding with the certificate of registry inscribed
thereon, and all dogs not so registered and collared as
aforesaid, (found within the limits of Salt Lake City
shall be impounded, and the owner subjected to the same
penalty as the owners of unregistered dogs. Dogs
impounded under the provisions of this section shall be
well housed, and fed and watered.
SECTION 714. KILLING REGISTERED DOGS PROHIBITED.
It shall be unlawful foratfy person to kill, or cause to

killed, any dog registered as herein provided, without the
consent of the owner or possessor thereof,(exoept where ,!
said dog is found to be running at large, or to be tres-
passing upon the premises of another,u or to deprive a
registered dog of its Dollar, or to place a registration
tag on any dog not duly registered.
SECTION 1. That Chapter 21 of the Revised Ordinances of
Salt Lake City of .9113, be, and the lame is hereby amended, by
adding in and to said Chapter 21 a-new segt on to be known as
Section 7104 said new Ejection ta,read as follows:

keeter or person in charge of a male qr"female dog to
permit the same to run at large, or to trespass upon the
premises of another, within the limits of Salt Lake City.
Any such dog found running at large or trespassing upon
the premises of another, may lawfully be killed by any
police officer.
SECTION 3. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners,
it is necessary to the peace and safety of the City that this
ordinance shall beoome effective immediately.
SECTIOP 4. This ordinance shall take effect upon its
first publication.
