AN ORDINANCE LEVYING A TAX and for the assessment of property
(Sewer Extension No. 527) for the purpose of constructing and lay-
ing sewer laterals of first class vitrified pipe and grading and
constructing drainage system and bituminous mat pavement.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
SECTION I. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City
does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the same
upon the property hereinafter described (Sewer Extension No. 527)
for the purpose of constructing and laying sewer laterals of first
class vitrified pipe and grading and constructing drainage system
and bituminous mat pavement (five inch gravel base and bituminous
mat wearing surface approximately one inch in thickness) to-wit:
Lot 7, Blk. 43, 10-Acre Plat 'A', Big Field Survey,
abutting on and adjacent to both sides of Stringham Avenue between
5th and 6th East Streets. . ,g
This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing
.};1 and laying sewer laterals of first class vitrified pipe, eight (8)

inches in diameter a distance of 679 feet, including manholes, flush
tanks and yts for house connections, all complete, and grading and
constructing drainage system and bituminous mat pavement (five inch
gravel base and bituminous mat wearing surface approximately one inch
in thickness and twenty-four (24) feet in width) on Stringham Avenue
from 5th to 6th East Streets; the portions of said street opposite
the property hereinafter and hereinbefore described to be especially
affected and benefited by said improvement, and it is hereby adjudged,
determined and established that said property will be especially bene=
fited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby levied and said

parcels of land are hereby assessed at a uniform rate in accordance
with the linear foot frontage upon and to the entire death of the
same ownership back therefrom not exceeding 330 feet. The total
cost of said improvement is Eight Thousand Twenty-five and 15/100
($8,025.15XDollars; of which sum the abutters portion is Six Thou-
sand, Six Hundred Fifteen and 57/100 (y6,615.57) Dollars, Five
Thousand, Six Hundred Sixty-three and 19/100 (5,663.19) Dollars or
Five and 234/1000 ($5.234) Dollars per front or linear foot of
abutting property for half rate sewer and 24-foot roadway, bitu-
minous mat pavement and drainage system, there being 1,082 feet
abutting said improvement, and Nine Hundred Fifty-two and 38/100
(s952.38) Dollars or Two and 574/1000 (4i;2.574) Dollars per front
or linear foot of abutting property for 24-foot roadway bituminous
mat pavement and drainage system, there being 370 feet abutting
said improvement, which is the total abutters+ cost and cost per
front loot of said sewer ano. bituminous mat pavement and drainage
system; and One Thousand, Four Hundred Nine and 58/100 ($1,409.58)
Dollars, the city+s portion for one-half cost of grading on whole
job and all of the cost of paving of intersections to join with
present paved roadways at 5th and 6th :East Streets and for all
cost of outlet pipe line on 27th South Street for drainage system;
according to the contract entered into for the performance of said
work and making said improvement with Mullins, Wheeler & Tempest,
dated the 23rd day of March, 1943, and the Treasurer is hereby
authorized and directed to assess in accordance with the provisions
of this ordinance for the purposes herein mentioned:

24-FOOT ROADWAY - BITUMINOUS MAT PAVEMENT -
DRAINAGE SYSTEM.
• Fronting on the North side of Stringham Avenue.
The west 100 ft. of Lot 7, and the east 1 0 ft of the
west 726 ft. of Lot 7, of Blk. 43, 10-acre Y1a +A+,
Fronting on on the south side of Str.ingham Avenue.
The west 100 ft. of Lot 7, and the east 70 ft. of the
west 726 ft. of Lot 7, of Blk. 43, 10-Acre plat tAr;
as the same are shown upon the official plats of said city to the
entire depth of the same ownership back from said street, not ex-
ceeding 330 feet, and to collect said tax.
SECTION 2. That the assessment list made by the city
treasurer, as corrected, approved and completed by the Board of
Equalization and Review of the property described in Section I of
this ordinance (Sewer Extension No. 527) of Salt Lake City, for the
purpose of constructing and laAying sewer laterals class
vitrified pipe, including manholes, flush tanks and yes for house
connections, ell complete, and grading and constructing drainage
system and bituminous mat pavement (five inch gravel base and bitu-
minous mat wearing surface approximately one inch in thickness and
twenty-four (24) feet in width) upon said portions of said street,
is hereby confirmed, and the assessments made and returned in said
completed. lists, and the report of the Board of Equalization and
Review to the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, are hereby
ratified, approved. and confirmed.
SECTION 3. Said tax shall be payable in ten equal yearly
installments as provided. by law and ordinance with interest on the
whole sum unpaid at the rate of five per cent per annum, payable at
the time each installment is due; provided, however, that one or
more •such installments in the order payable, or the whole tax, may
be paid without interest within fifteen (15) days from the date this
ordinance becomes effective. One or more installments in_ the order
in which they are payable, or the whole special tax, may be paid
after said fifteen days and before the first installment becomes due
by paying the same with interest from the date of levy to the date
such first installment is due. One or more installments in the order
in which they are payable, or the whole special tax, may be paid on
the date any installment becomes due by paying the amount thereof
and interest to the date of payment. Default in the payment of any
such installment of principal or interest when due shall cause the
whole of the unpaid principal or interest to become due and payable
immediately and the whole amount of the unpaid principal shall
thereafter draw interest at the rate of ten per cent per annum
until paid, but at any time prior to the date of sale or foreclosure,
the owner may pay the amount of all unpaid installments past due
with interest at the rate of ten per cent per annum to date of pay-
ment on the delinquent installments, and all accrued costs, and
shall thereupon be restored to the right thereafter to pay in
installments in thesame manner as if defauhad not occurred.
