Mr.Chairman . — AN ORDINANCE Result AN ORDINANCE AMENDING Section 1-2-4, relative to the impounding of dogs, redemption, and Section 1-2-10, relative to the impounding of dogs running at large, of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1955. Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. That Sections 1-2-4, relative to the impounding of dogs, redemption, and Section 1-2-10, relative to the impounding of dogs running at large, of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1955, be and the same hereby are, amended to read as follows: "Sec. 1-2-4. hmpounding of dogs. Redemption. Any dog impounded as an unlicensed dog may be redeemed and taken from such pound by- the owner or any authorized person, upon exhibiting to the supervisor_ or person having charge of said pound, a certificate of registry as provided in Section 1-2-1 showing that the license in said section imposed has been paid for such dog and upon paying the person C*^ in charge of said pound an impounding fee of five dollars ($5.00) - and the sum of fifty cents ($0.50) for each and every day such dog shall have been impounded; and all impounded dogs not redeemed within 5 days shall be sold for the best price obtainable, at either private or public sale and all moneys received from such sales shall be paid daily to the Treasurer of Salt Lake City and all dogs that are not sold shall be killed in a humane manner." "Sec. 1-2-10. Impounding of dogs running at large. All dogs running at large within the corporate limits of Salt Lake City shall be taken up and impounded in the city dog pound and any dog taken up for running at large shall be detained for a period of five days and at the end of said period said dog shall be sold for the best price obtainable, at either private or public sale and all moneys received from such sales shall be paid daily to the Treasurer of Salt Lake City and all dogs that are not` sold shall be killed in a humane manner provided, however, that the owner or keeper of any such dog so impounded may redeem the same during said five day period by paying to the person in charge of said pound an impounding fee of five dollars ($5.00) and the sum of fifty cents ($0.50) for each and every day such dog shall have been impounded." SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners, it is necessary to the peace, health and safety of the inhabitants of Salt Lake City that this ordinance become effective immediately. eic/ • -2- SECTION 3.
