34 of 1903 - Ordinance 34 of 1903 – Sidewalk Extension No. 30. AN ORDINANCE . An ordinance amending an ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of property on both sides of Princeton Avenue between Ninth Rest and Yale Streets, in Sidewalk District No. 37, for the construction of a sidewalk, passed by the City Council February 16th, 1903, and approved by the Mayor February 21st, 1903. Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. That Section 1 of an ordinance entitled "An ordi- nance levying a tax and for the assessment of property on both sides of Princeton Avenue between Ninth East and Yale Streets, in Sidewalk District No. 37, for the construction of a sidewalk," passed by the City Council February 16th, 1903, and approved by the Mayor Febru- ary 21st, 1903, be, and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: SECTION 1. That the City Council does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment upon the property here- inafter described abutting on both sides of Princeton Avenue between Ninth East Street and a point five hundred and seventy- five (575) feet west of the west line of Yale Street, in Side- walk District No. 37. This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing a sidewalk upon said portion of said street opposite the property hereinafter described to be especially affected and benefitted by said improvement, and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that the same will be especially benefitted there- by to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and said par- cels of land are hereby assessed at an equal and uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon said portion of said street, fronting upon and to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of land is six hundred and ninety- nine and 66/100 ($699.66) dollars, or 18/100 ($0.18) dollars per front or linear foot, and theTreasurer is hereby author- -2- ized and empowered to assess in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance, for the purpose herein mentioned, lots 1 to 96, inclusive, 105 and 106, Inglewood Subdivision; lots 24 to 41, inclusive, and lot 46, block 2, and lots 24 to 42, inclu- sive, block 3, Park View Subdivision, Salt Lake City Survey, es the same are shown upon the official plats of said City, to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back from said street. SECTION 2. The special tax heretofore levied upon lots 1 to 23, inclusive, block 2; and 1 to 23, inclusive, block 3, Park View Subdivision, for the construction of a sidewalk, is hereby abated, and the City Treasurer instructed to refrain from collecting the said tax levied upon said lets. SECTION 3.
