Result AN ORDINANCE
An ordinance amending Chapter 02 of the Revised Ordinances
of Salt Lake City, 1913, relating to signs, awnings and arches, by
adding after section 1150 of said chapter a new section to be known as
section 1150z,relating to the release of bonds given for the erection
and maintenance of electric signs.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt rake
City:
SECTION 1. That Chapter 52 of the Revised Ordinances of
Salt Lake City, Utah, 1913, relating to signs, awnings and arches, be
and the same is hereby amended by adding a new section following
section 1150 of said Chapter; said new section to be known as Section
1150X, and to read as follows:
Sec. 1150x. In case a corporation shall have issued to Salt
Lake City, a bond indemnifying said city from all loss,e416 costs,
expense or damage by reason of the erection or maintenance of
electric signs over the streets of the city, any person firm or
corporation who shall have an electric sign suspended over any
street of this city by permission of the authoritl.es of the City,
and who has given a bond to indemnify the city from all damages.
caused by the erection or maintenance of said sign, may have said
last mentioned bond released upon presenting a petition to the
Board of Commissioners of this city; provided, said person, firm
or corporation shall file with such petition a certificate from
the corporation issuing the bond first above mentioned, that said
•
corporation agrees and consents that said sign shall be covered
and included in said first named indemnity bond. That in case any
application xx hereafter made to the Board of Commissioners for
permission to erect or maintain an electric sign over any street
of this city shall be accompanied by the certificate in this
Section mentioned, the Board of Commissioners may grant the appli-
cation withtut requiring the bond mentioned in Section 1150 of this
Chapter.
SECTION 2. All ordinances and resolutions and parts of ordin-
ances and resolutions in conflict with this ordinance are hereby repealed
to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first
publication.
