Result.. AN ORDINANCE
An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of
property on the south side of South Temple Street between
West Temple and Main Streets; on both sides of South Temple
Street betwein Main and State Striate; on both aides of State
Street between South Temple and Fourth South Streets; on both
sides of First South Street between West Temple and Second
Mast Streets; on both sides of 3eoond South Street between
West Temple and Second Bast Streets; on both sides of Third
South Street between West Temple and Second Bast Streets; and
on both aides of Fourth South Street between West Temple and
Main Streets, for the purpose of operating, maintaining and
patrolling for a period of three years from April 26, 1919 to
April 26, 1922, seven four ampere luminous aro lamps along each
side of said streets in each bleak in Lighting District Be. 1,

Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
SBCTIOH 1. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment
of the same upcm the property hereinafter described in Lighting
District So. 1, of Salt Lake City, for the purpose of operating.
maintaining and patrolling for a period of three years from
April 26, 1919 to April 26, 1922, seven four ampere luminous,

district, to-wit:
xn Lots 5, 6, 7 and 8, Block 40; 1, 2, 6 and 6, Block 61;
1, 6, 6, 7 and 8, Block 62; 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6, Block 53; 1, 2, 3,
4, 5, 6, 7 and 8, Block 56; 1, 2, 5, 6, 7 and 8, Block 57; 1, 2,
3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8, Block 68; 1, 2, 6 and 6, Block 69; 1, 2, 3,
4, 5, 6, 7 and 8, Block 70; 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 and 6, Block 71; 1, 2,
3, 4 aand 5, Block 74; 1, 2, 5, 6, 7 and 8, Block 75; 1, 2, 3, 4
6, 6, 7 and 8, Block 76; 1, 2, 3 and 4, Block 88, all in Plat
"A", Salt Lake City Survey, and in part of Section 31, Township
1 north, Bangs 1 east, Salt Lake Base and Meridian, and abutti
on said 'Etiolate.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of operating,
maintaining and patrolling for a period of three yearn from
April 26, 1919 to April 26, 192E, seven four ampere luminous
aro lamps along each side of said streets in each block of said
diatriot, and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established
that the property bereinbefore and hereinafter described will
be espeei43y benefited thereby to the full amount of the tam
hereby levied and assessed, and said parcels of land are hereby
assessed at an equal and uniform rate in accordance with the
linear foot frontage upon said portions of said streets, lots
and blocks fronting upon ant to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet
back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed
upon said parcels of land is twenty-six thousand three hundred
fifty-eight and 44/100 ($26,358.44) dollars, or one and
441061/1,000,000 ($1.341061) dollars per front or linear foot
of abutting property, which is the total ooat and cost per front
foot of the abutters' portion of said improvement, according to
the contract entered into for the performance of said work and
making said improvement, with the Utah Power do Light Company,
dated April 26, 1918, and there is hereby assessed for the

SECTION $. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in
equal annual installments, the first of whioh shall become
delinquent in thirty days after this ordinance becomes effective,
and the aeoond in one year from said date, and the third in two
years from said date, with interest on the whole sum unpaid at

1the rate of six per cent per annum, payable annually; the whole
tax or one or more installments thereof, may be paid without
!interest within thirty days after this ordinance bee on*a ef fee tive.
• IjUnlese default is made in the payment of any installment of snob
tax, one or more installments in the order in which they are mate
payable, or the whole special tax, may be paid on the day say
installment becomes due, by paying the amount thereof and interest
installment, whether of principal or
to date of payment. Default in the payment of any such-„interest
when due, shall cause the whole of the unpaid principal to been •
due and payable immediately, and the Whole amount.of the unpaid
principal and accrued interest shall thereafter draw interest at
the rate of eight per cent per annum until the day of sale; but
at any time prior to the day of sale, the amount of all unpaid
installments then due, with interest at the rate of eight per
sent per antrum and all accrued posts may be paid, and thereafter
the right to pay any installment shall exist in the same manner
as if default had not been made.
S$CTIQX 3. This ordinance shall take effect one day after
its first publication.
