Green -- 5 Mr. Chairman Result AN ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE amending Section 1254 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, 1920, relating to Billiard, pool tables, etc. Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. That Section 1254 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, 1920, be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: SECTION 1254. It shall be unlawful for any person to engage in, conduct or carry on the business of keeping, or maintaining for public use or hire, any billiard table, pool table, or any pin or ball alley, or nine-pin alley or ten-pin alley in or on which games are played, without first obtaining a license so to do; provided, that no license shall issue to keep, maintain or operate for public use or hire any of the games hereinbefore mentioned, without the boundaries of the district following: The south side of North Temple street, the south side of Fifth South Street, the east side of Second East Street, and the west side of Sixth West street. All applications for license contemplated by this section shall state the number and kind of tables, pin or ball alleys, or nine or ten-pin alleys to be licensed, and the place of keeping the same. Upon the filing of such ap i I plication, and upon payment into the oity treasury of fifteen ($15.00) dollars per annum in advance for each billiard,or pool table and twenty ($20.00) dollars for each pin or ball alley or nine or ten-pin alley specified in said application, yearly licenses may be issued thereon. SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioner it is heoessary to the health, peace and safety of the inhabi- tance of Salt Lake City, that this ordinance take effect imme- diately. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first publication. Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, this 1 day of May, 1921. ���-7 ayor.
