Result AN ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE LEVYING A TAX and for the assessment of
property on the north side of Downington Avenue, south side of
Roosevelt Avenue, between 16th and 17th East Streets, and the
east side of 16th East from Roosevelt Avenue south 108 feet, in
Sidewalk District No. 44, (Sidewalk Extension No. 219) for the
purpose of constructing concrete sidewalk.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt
Lake City, Utah:
SECTION I. That the Board of commissioners of Salt Lake
City does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of
the same upon the property hereinafter described in Sidewalk
District No. 44, (Sidewalk Extension 219), for the purpose of
constructing a concrete sidewalk, to-wit:
Lots 1 to 27 incl. of Block 1, University Heights Sub:.,
Blk. 12, and Lots 1 and 39 to 58 incl. of Blk. 6, Progress
Heights 2nd Addition, Blk. 9, all in Five Acre Plat "C",
Big Field Survey, abutting on the north side of Downington
Avenue, the south side of Roosevelt Avenue, between 16th
and 17th East Streets, and the east side of 16th East Street
from Roosevelt Avenue south 108 feet.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing
sidewalk five (5) feet wide and four (4) inches thick, with three
and one-quarter (3*) inch base and three-quarter (t) inch topping,
upon the portions of said streets opposite the property hereinbe-
fore and hereinafter descried �be especially affected and bane-

fited by said improvement, and it is hereby adjudged, determined
and established that said property will be especially benefited
thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby levied., and said par-
cels of land are hereby assessed at an equal and uniform rate in
accordance with the linear foot frontage upon said portions of
said streets, fronting upon and to the entire depth back therefro ,
and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of
land is Two Thousand, Five Hundred Sixty-four and 79/100 ( 2564.79)
Dollars, or One and 67/100 ( 1.67) Dollars per front or linear
foot of abutting property, there being 1,535.8 feet of abutting
property within the boundaries of the lots, blocks and streets
above mentioned in said district, which is the total abutters'
coat and cost per front foot of said sidewalk, according to the
contract entered into for the performance of said work and making
said improvement with J. L. Griffith Company, dated. the 17th day
of March, 1924, and the City Treasurer is hereby authorized and
directed to assess in accordance with the provisions of this ordi-
nance, for the purpose herein mentioned:

The north side of Lots 1 to 23 inel., the north side of
Lot 27, the west side of Lots 24 to 27 incl., of Blk. 1, Universi-
ty Heights Addition,of Blk. 12, and the south side of Lots 1 and
39 to 58 incl. of Blk. 6, Progress Heights 2nd Addition, of Blk.
9, all in 5 Acre Plat "C't, Big Field survey, as the same are shown
upon the official plats of said pity to the entire depth of said
parcels of land and to collect said tax.
SECTION 2. That the assessment list made by the City
Treasurer, as corrected, approved and completed by the Board of
Equalization and Review of the property described. in Section I of
this ordinance in Sidewalk District No. 44 (Sidewalk Extension No.
219) of Salt Lake City, for the purpose of constructing a side-
alk upon said portion of said streets, is hereby confirmed., and
the assessments made and returned in said completed lists, and the

report of the Boar of Equalization and Review to the Board of
Commissioners of Salt Lake City, are hereby ratified, approved
;and confirmed.
SECTION 3. aaid tax shall be payable in five egtal
yearly installments as provided by law and ordinance with interest
on the whole sum unpaid at the rate of six per cent per annum,
payable at the time each installment is due. In the event any
jinstallment or the interest aforesaid is not paid on the day the
same becomes due, the whole amount of the special tax unpaid at
the time said installment and interest are due, shall become due
land payable, and shall draw interest at the rate of twelve per
'!kegnt per annum until the sale of the property asaeeaed,.
