on the sale of water to residents of the county, with-
drawn. It was referred to the Committee of the Whole.
Shall the action be to file the ordinance, or can the
entire matter be taken from the records We have
decided not to introduce it at this time as it will not
be to the city's interests so to do.

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING Chapter LXIV, of the Revised Ordinances
of Salt Lake City, 1920, by adding in and to said chapter a new
section to be known as Section 2043.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of Sal-t Lake
City, Utah;
SECTION I. That Chapter LXIV, of the Revised Ordi.nanoes
of Salt Lake City, 1920, be, and the sans is, hereby amended by
adding in and to said chapter a new section to be known as Section
2043 and shall read as follows:
Section 2043. The Board of Commissioners may grant
permission for the connection of premises outside of the city
limits to the city water mains for use of water for domestic
purposes upon the following terms and conditions, to•-wit:
That the city reserves the right at all times to
restrict the use of water and to discontinue service, if,
at any time,there shall be such a shortage that the inhabitants
of Salt Lake City cannot be adequately served. The applicant
for such water service shall he governed by all the rules
and regulations which may be prescribed by the Commissioner
of Water Supply and Waterworks, and also be subject to such
regulations as are imposed by city ordinance, the applicant
to bear the entire expense of making the connection; all pipes
to be approved by the Superintendent of Waterworks and kept

in good repair by the person using such water, all service-
to be metered, meters to be approved by the Superintendent
of Waterworks and furnished at the excense of the applican ,
meters to be placed in regular meter boxes outside of
buildings, work of installation to be done by the Water-
works Department, at the expense of such applicant, the
applicant to make such deposit as may be required by the
aommis$ion er of Water Supply and Waterworks, provided
such deposit may be waived by such commissioner upon show-
ing of adequate financial responsibility on the part of
the applicant; rates of water to be seven cents for
each hundred cubic feet and the minimum charge to be
seventy-five cents per month. 9
SECTION II. In the opinion of the Board of Commissi..ers
it is necessary to the peace, health and safety of the in-
habitants of Salt Lake City, that this ordinance shall take
effect immediately.
SECTION III. This ordinance shall take effect upon
publication.
