Mr. Chairman . . j " / AN/F3RDINANCE Result AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2109 of the Revised Ordi- nances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1944, as amended by ordinances passed by the Board of Commissioners, relating to City Recorder. Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. That Section 2109 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1944, as amended by ordinances passed by the Board of Commissioners on March 16, 1944, April 4, 1944, May 24, 1944, June 21, 1945, February 26, 1946, March 4, 1947, and November 16, 1948, relating to City Recorder, be and the same is hereby further amended to read as follows: "SEC. 2109. APPOINTMENTS, DEPUTIES, ASSISTANTS, CLERKS. The Board of Commissioners may appoint in the office of the City Recorder of Salt Lake City the following deputies at salaries not to exceed the amounts named: One chief deputy city recorder at a salary not to exceed $3600.00 per annum. One deputy city recorder and chief clerk at a salary not to exceed $3270.00 per annum. One deputy city recorder at a salary not to exceed $3120.00 per annum. In the absence of or during the disability of the City Recorder, the chief deputy city recorder or either of the two ' deputy city recorders shall exercise all the functions and powers of the city recorder. The chief deputy city recorder shall give a bond to the city in the sum of $1,000.00 One deputy city recorder, who shall act as deputy clerk and Supervisor of the Criminal Division of the city court at _ 35 . -2- a salary not to exceed $3600.00 per annum. One deputy city recorder, who shall act as deputy clerk and Supervisor of the Civil Division of the city court at a salary not to exceed $3150.00 per annum. Five deputy city recorders, who shall act as deputy clerks of the city court, each at a salary not to exceed $3,000.00 per annum. Two deputy city recorders, who shall act as deputy clerk of the city court, each at a salary not to exceed $2880.00 per annum. The Board of Commissioners may employ such clerks, sten- ographers and other employees as may be necessary for the proper conduct of said office at such salaries as may be desig- nated by said Board." SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners, it is necessary to the peace, health and safety of the inhabitants of Salt Lake City that this ordinance become effective immediately SECTION 3.
