Result AN ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE LEVYING A TAX and for the assessment of
property on Emery St. from 6th South to Arapahoe Avenue; Navajo
Street from 8th South to Indiana Avenue, Cheyenne Street from
Wasatch Avenue to lst alley south of Wasatch Avenue; 7th South
Street from Pueblo to Cheyenne Streets; Wasatch Avenue from
1/2 block west of Navajo Street to Cheyenne Street; 8th South
Street from 1/2 block west of Navajo Street to 50 feet west of
Montgomery Street, in Sewer District No. 2, (Sewer Extension No.
377) for the purpose of constructing a sewer.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of Salt
Lake City, Utah:
SECTION I. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of
the same upon the property hereinafter described in Sewer District
No. 2, (Sewer Extension No. 377) for the purpose of constructing
a sewer, to-wit:
In Lots 2 to 17 incl. of Blk. 22, Lots 1 to 16 incl. of
Blk. 23, Jordan Place Sub., being a part of Secs. 2 & 3, T. 1 S.,
20 and
R. 1 W., S.L.B.& M., Lotl of Blk. 2, Lots 1, 40, and 21 to 30
incl. of Blk. 3, Lots 21 to 40 incl. of Bik. 4, Lots 1 to 40 incl.
of Blk. 5, Lots 11 to 20 incl. of Blk. 11, Lots 1 to 40 incl. of
Blk. 12, and Lots 1 to 20 incl. of Bik. 13, Poplar Grove Add., being
a part of Secs. 10 & 11, T. 1 S., R. 1 W., S.L.B.& M.; Lots 16 to 30
incl. of Blk. 1, Lots 1 to 15 incl., 19, 20 and 21 of Blk. 6, Evans

1 W., S.L.B.& M; Commencing at the N.E. corner of Lot 19, Blk.
6, Evans Add. to Poplar Grove; thence N. 50 feet, being a
part of the N. E. of Sec. 10, T. 1 S., R. 1 W., S.L.B. & M.,
Lots 29 & 30 of Blk. 2 and Lots 1 & 2 of Blk. 5, Evans Add.
to Poplar Grove, being a part of Sec. 10, T. 1 S., R. 1 W.,
S.L.B,& M., Salt Lake City Survey, abutting on•both sides of
Emery Street from 6th South to Arapahoe Avenue; Navajo St.

to Cheyenne Streets; Wasatch Ave. from 1/2 block west of
Navajo St. to Cheyenne St.; 8th South St. from 1/2 block west
of Navajo St. to 50 feet west of Montgomery St.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of construct-
sewer
ing a vitrified and concrete pips/from eight (8) inches in
diameter to twenty-one (21) inches in diameter, upon the por-
tionsof said streets opposite the property hereinbefore and
hereinafter described to be especially affected and benefited
by said improvement and it is hereby adjudged, determined and
established that said property will be especially bei efited
thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby levied and said
parcels of land are hereby assessed at an equal and uniform
rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon said
portions of said streets fronting upon and to the entire depth
of said parcels of land back therefrom, and the tax hereby
levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of land is Twenty-
six Thousand Twenty-four and 71/100 ( 26,024.71) dollars or
Four and 49/100 ($4.49) dollars per front or linear foot of
abutting property for half rate without curb connections, there
being 5796.15 feet abutting said improvement, which is the
total coat and cost per front foot of said sewers according
to the contract entered into for the performance of said work
and making said improvement with R. E. Campbell, dated the llth

day of October, 1920, and the Treasurer is hereby authorized
and directed to assess in accordance with the provisions of thi;
ordinance for the purposes herein mentioned:

The west side of Lots 2 to 17 incl. of Blk. 22, the
east side of Lots 1 to 16 incl. of Blk. 23, Jordan Place Sub.;
being a part of Seas. 2 & 3, T. 1 S., R. 1 W., S.L.B.& M.,
the west side of the north 82.5' of Lot 20, the west side of
the south 82.5' of Lot 21, Blk. 2, the east side of the north
82.5' of Lot 1, the east side of the south 82.5' of Lot 40,
the north side of Lots 21 to 30 incl., Block 3; the north
side of Lots 21 to 40 incl. of Blk. 4; the south side of Lots
1 to 20 incl., the north side of Lots 21 to 40 incl. and the
west side of the south 66' of Lot 21, Block 5; the south side
of Lots 11 to 20 incl. of Blk. 11; the south side of Lots 1
to 20 incl., the north side of Lots 21 to 40 incl. of Blk. 12;
the south side of Lots 1 to 20 incl. of Blk. 13, Poplar Grove
Add., being a part of Secs. 10 & 11, T. 1 S., R. 1 W;, S.L.B.
& M.; the north side of Lots 16 to 30 incl. of Blk. l; the
south side of Lots 1 to 15 incl. and the east side of Lots
19, 20 & 21 of Blk. 6, Evans Add. to Poplar Grove, being a
'part of Sec. 10, T. 1 S., R. 1 W., S.L.B.& M., Commencing
at the N.E. corner of Lot 19, Blk. 6, Evans Add. to Poplar
Grove; thence north 50', being a part of the N.E.1 of Sec.
10, T. 1 S., R. 1 W., S.L.B.& M; the north side of Lots 29 & 30
of Blk. 2; and the south side of Lots 1 & 2 of Blk. 5, Evans
;Add. to Poplar Grove, being a part of Sec. 10, T. 1 S., R. 1 W.
S.L/B.& M., Salt Lake City Survey, as the same are shown upon
the official plats of said city to the entire depth of said
parcels of land and to collect said tax.
SECTION II. Said tax shall become and be delinquent
in five equal yearly installments, with interest on the whole
sum unpaid at the rate of six per cent per annum, payable at

the time each installment is due, to-wit: One-fifth thereof
one year after the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax
for the payment for such improvement becomes effective; one-
fifth thereof in two years after said ordinance becomes effec-
tive; one-fifth thereof in three years after said ordinance be-
comes effective; one-fifth thereof in four years after said
ordinance becomes effective; and one-fifth thereof in five 1
years after said ordinance becomes effective. One or more of
said installments, in the order in which they are payable, or
Ithe whole special tax, may be paid at any time within ten (10)
days after the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax becomes
effective, without interest. In the event of any installment
or the interest aforesaid not being paid on the day the sane
becomes due, the whole amount of the special tax unpaid at
the time said installment and interest are due, shall become
due and payable, and shall draw interest at the rate of eight
per cent per annum until the sale of the property assessed;
provided, one or more installments, in the order in which
theysare payable, or the whole special tax unpaid, may be paid
on the day any installment becomes due, by paying the amount
thereof and interest to said date.
SECTION III. This ordinance shall take effect one
day after its first publication.
