AN ORDINANCE A ENDING SECTIONS 1235 and 1237, Revised
Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1920, relating to the law
department.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt
Lake City, Utah:
SECTION I. That Sections 1235 and 1237, Revised Ordi-
nances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1920, relating to the law de-
partment be and the same are hereby amended to read as follows:
SECTION 1235. 0012ENSJTION. The compensation of
the officers in the law department shall be such as may
be fixed by the board of commissioners, not to exceed the
amounts stated as follows: The city attorney, ti 4,200.00
per annum; one assistant city attorney, 63;600.00 per
annum; one assistant city attorney, 62,600.00 per annum;
one assistant city attorney, §2,400.00 per annum. Such
compensation shall be paid monthly. '
SECTION 1237. CHIRP CLERK. The Board of Commis-
sioners shall employ a suitable person as Chief Clerk of
the law department at a salary not exceeding 41800.00 per .
annum, payable monthly.
SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners
of Salt Lake City, it is necessary to the peace, health, and safety
of the inhabitants of Salt hake City that this ordinance become
effective.immediately.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its
