Fehr EIRE Finch Moran Mr.Chairman - - - AN ORDINANCE Result AN ORDINANCE LEVYING A TAX and for the assessment of property in Paving District No. 33 (Paving Extension No. 178) for the purpose of grading, constructing curb and gutter, drain- age and irrigation system, private driveways, install water ser- vices to back of ourb and pave with Portland cement concrete thereof North Temple Street from Main Street to 3rd West Street. Be it ordained by ttte Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION I. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter described in Paving Dis- trict No. 33 (Paving Extension No. 178) for the purpose of grading, constructing curb and gutter, drainage and irrigation system, pri- vate triveways, installing water services to back of curb and pav- ing with Portland cement concrete thereof, to-wit: In Lots 5, 6, 7 and 8 of Blk. 84, Lots 5 and 6 of Blk, 85, Lots 5, 6, 7 and 8 of Blk. 86, Blk. 87, Lots • 1, 2, 3 and 4 of Blk. 94, Lots 1 and 3 of Blk. 95, Lots 1, 2, 3 and 4 of Blk. 96, and Lots 1 and 2 of Blk. 97, Plat "A", Salt Lake City Survey, abutting on both sides of North Temple Street from Main Street to 3rd West Street, in Salt Lake City, Utah. This tax is levied to defray the expense of grading, constructing drainage and irrigation system, curb and gutter, private driveways, installing water services to back of curb 36 ii it -l- and paving with Portland cement concrete North Temple Street from Main Street to 3rd West Street, said pavement to be seventy-two six (6) to (72) feet between curbs and eight (8) inches thick, the portions of said streets opposite the property hereinbefore and hereinafter described to be especially affected and benefited by said improve- ment, and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that said property will he especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels of land are here- by assessed at an equal and uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon and to the entire depth back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of land is Sixty-four Thousand Two Hundred Four and 94/100 (064,204.941 Dollars; Sixty-one Thousand Seven Hundred Fifty-eight and 54/100 (061,758.54) Dollars or Eleven and 72/100 (011.72) Dollars per front or linear foot of abutting property for said seventy-two (72) foot roadway, there being 5,269.50 feet abutting said portion of said improvement; Two Thousand Twenty-five and 00/100 (02025.00) Dollars for private driveways, there being thirty-seven and one-half (371') private driveways at Fifty-four (054.00) Dollars per drive- way; Four Hundred Six and 00/100 (0406.00) Dollars for private driveways, there being seven (7) private driveways at Fifty-eight (058.00) Dollars per driveway; Fifteen and 40/100 (015.40) Dollars for water services, there being one (1) water service at Fifteen and 40/100 (415,40) Dollars for each water service, the cost of installing which water services and the cost of construction of which driveways and the property benefited thereby is hereinafter set out, and all within the boundaries of the lots, blocks and streets above mentioned in said district, which is the total abut- ters' cost and cost per front foot of said improvement, according to the contract entered into for the performance of said work and making said improvement with J. L. PROPERTY ASSESSED FOR WATER SERVICES IN ADDITION TO REGULAR ASSESSMENT. The south side of the west 49.5 ft. of the east 165 ft. of Lot 1, Blk. 95, Plat "A", Salt Lake City Survey; as the same are shown upon the official plats of said oity to the entire depth bank from said streets, and to collect said tax. SECTION LI. That the assessment list made by the City Treasurer as corrected, approved and completed by the Board of Equalization and Review of the prpperty described in Section I of this ordinance in Paving Extension No. 178, of Salt Lake City, for the purpose of grading, constructing drainage and irrigation sys- tem, curb and gutter, private driveways, installing water services to back of curb and paving with Portland cement concrete thereof is hereby confirmed and the assessments made and returned in said completed lists, and the report of the Board of Equalization and Review to the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City are hereby , { c -5- ratified, approved and confirmed. SECTION III. Said tax shall be payable in ten equal yearly installments as provided by law and ordinance with interest on the whole sum unpaid at the rate of six per cent per annum, payable at the time each installment is due. In the event any in- atallment or the interest aforesaid is not paid on the day the same becomes due, the whole amount of the special tax unpaid at the time said installment and interest are due, shall become due and payable, and shall draw interest at the rate of twelve per Dent per annum until the sale of the property assessed. SECTION IV. This ordinance shall take effect one day after its publication. Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, this IN T day of A.D. 1926. Mayor.
