AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 6 OF TITLE 15 of the Revised Ordinances
of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1955, relating to restrictions upon the sale or
use of fireworks, by adding thereto two new sections relating to the
sale and use of fusees.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City,,
Utah:
SECTION 1 . That Chapter 6 of Title 15 of the Revised Ordinances of
Salt Lake City, Utah, 1955, relating to restrictions upon the sale or
use of fireworks, be, and the same hereby is, amended by adding thereto
Sections 15-6-7 and 15-6-8, relating to the sale and use of fusees, said
sections to read as follows:
"Sec. 15-6-7. Sale of fusees. It shall be unlawful for any
person to sell or offer to sell any. railroad, aviation or highway
fusee, or similar fusee or flare, to any person whose age is less
than that at which he may be licensed to operate a motor vehicle
under the laws of the State of Utah.
"Sec. 15-6-8. Lighting of fusees prohibited... lt shall be
unlawful for any person to ignite or cause to be ignited any rail-
road, aviation or highway fusee, or similar fusee or flare, within
the corporate limits of Salt Lake City for any purpose other than
emergency signaling."
SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners, it is
necessary to the peace, health and safety of the inhabitants of Salt Lake
City, that this ordinance become effective immediately.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first
publication.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah,
this 9th day of May 1961 .
