AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 6714 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt
Lake City, Utah, 1944, as amended by ordinances passed by the Board of
Commissioners, relating to Zoning, and a public hearing having been held.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah.
SECTION 1. That Section 6714 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt
Lake City, Utah, 1944, as amended from time to time, relating to zoning,
be and the same is hereby further amended by adding in and to said Section
Item 124, which shall read as follows:
ITEM NO. 124. The following described real property, as shown on
the Use District Map, is hereby changed to the classifications hereinafter
set out, and said map is amended and changed accordingly.
Changing the following described properties from Residential "B-2",
Residential "B-3" and "Industrial" to Residential "A":
Commencing at the point where the east line of the Jordan
Vs- River and the north line of California Avenue intersects;
thence south meandering along the Jordan River 3,375 feet,
more or less, to the Salt Lake City limit line, said line
being the south line of 17th South; thence west 150 feet,
more or less; thence south 70 feet, more or less, along the
City limit line to the common east-west 4 Section line of
Section 14 and 15, T1S, R1W, SLB&M; thence west along said
Section line 2,500 feet, more or less, to the Surplus Canal;
thence in a northwest direction meandering along the Sur-
plus Canal 3,000 feet, more or less, to Redwood Road; thence
North 90 feet to a point 25 feet east of the southwest corner
of Lot 108 Glendale Park Plat "A"; thence East 125 feet,
more or less, to a point on the east boundary of the existing
Residential "B-3tt District, said point being on the north
line of the present California Avenue right-of-way and 125
feet east of Redwood Road; thence north 165 feet along said
boundary of the Residential "B-3" District; thence East 445
feet; more or less, to the west boundary of Glendale Gardens
Plat A; thence N 2 deg. 21 min 11 sec E 1,393 feet, more or
less, to the south line of Lot 37, Blk 7 Glendale Gardens
Plat F; thence N 2 deg 21 min 11 sec E 682.878 feet; thence '
north 1,117 feet, more or less, along the west line of the
Brighton and Northpoint Canal, said line also being in common
with the west line of Lot 39, Glendale Gardens Plat H, to a
point on the north line of the S.P.L.A. and S.L.R.R. right-
of-way, said point being 85 feet west of Montgomery Street;
thence N 80 deg. 26 min. 47 sec. W. 365 feet, more or less,
to the west line of Prospect Street; thence north 467.86

feet to Indiana Avenue; thence west 200 feet;
thence north 565.5 feet; thence east 12.5 feet
to the rear lot lines of those properties facing
prospect Street; thence north 2,232 feet, more or
less, to a point 187.5 feet east of the west line
of Lot 8, Glendale Park Plat A, and 165 feet north
of 5th South Street; thence east 4,450 feet, more
or less, to the east bank of the Jordan River;
thence in a southerly direction meandering along
the Jordan River 4,900 feet, more or less, to a
point in line with the north line of Hayes Avenue,
thence west 1,475 feet, more or less, to Emery
Street; thence south 3,180 feet, more or less, to
California Avenue; thence east 700 feet, more or
less, to the same place of beginning.
Excluding therefrom the following which shall
remain under the present zoning classification:
(1) All of those properties zoned Residential "B-2"
and Residential "B-3" bordered by llth West Street
on the east and 14th West Street and Cheyenne Street
on the west, 8th South on the north and 9th South
on the south;
(2) All of Lots 1 and 2, Block 3, and all of Lot
12, Block 4 Glendale Gardens, Plat D, zoned Residen-
tial "B-3";
(3) All of Lots 1 to 6 inclusive and Lots 7 and 8,
Block 2, Utahna Subdivision zoned Residential "b-3";
(14) All of Lots 22, 23 and 24, Block A, McKeage's
First Subdivision
Also, that the following described properties now
zoned Residential "B-3" be changed to Residential
"B-2";
All of those properties along the north side of 5th
South Street to a depth of 106 feet between 9th West
Street and the Jordan River, more particularly described
as follows:
All of Lots 1, 2, 36 37 and 38 of Block 7 and
Lots 1 to 5 inclusive, 54 to 56 inclusive of Block
8, City Park Subdivision being a part of Block 29,
Plat C, S.L.C. Survey
Also, that the following described properties
now zoned Residential "B-2" be changed to Residential
"A-3":
Commencing at a point where the south line of
5th South Street and the East line of Jordan River
intersects; thence East 1,305 feet, more or less, to
a point located on the rear lot line of those pro-
perties facing 8th West Street; thence south 3,050
feet, more or less, to 9th South Street; thence West
750 feet, more or less, to a point where the north
line of 9th South Street and the east line of the
Jordan River intersects; thence north meandering
along the Jordan River 5,280 feet, more or less, to
the same place of beginning.
SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners, it
is necessary to the peace, health and safety of the inhabitants
of Salt Lake City that this ordinance shall become effective imm-
ediately; therefore, this ordinance shall become effective upon
