AN ORDINANCE AMENDING Chapter 8 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt
Lake City, Utah, 1955, as amended, relating to the salaries of officers
by adding thereto a new section relating to the salaries of elected officers.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That Chapter 8 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake
City, Utah, 1955, as amended, be, and the same hereby is, amended by adding
thereto a new section to be known as Section 25-8-2, relating to the salaries
of elected officers, to read as follows:
"Sec. 25-8-2. Salaries of Elected Officers. The maximum salaries
.allowed by state legislature shall be the salaries paid to the
elected officers of Salt Lake City. Until further amendment by
legislative action, these salaries shall be as follows:
Mayor $11,500.00 per annum
Board of Commissioners (each) 9,500.00 per annum
City Auditor 9,500.00 per annum
SECTION 2. The foregoing salaries shall be effective as provided in
state statute upon the effective date of the act which is May 9, 1961.
SECTION 3. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners, it is
necessary to the peace, health and safety of the inhabitants of Salt Lake
City, Utah, that this ordinance become effective immediately.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first publica-
tion.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, this
10th day of May , 1961.
