Green F Stewart Mr. Chairman Result AN ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE LEVYING A TAX and for the assessment of pro- perty in Lighting District `,to. 1-B, for the purpose of providing for the operation, maintenance and patrolling of arc lamps. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONER of Salt Lake City, Utah. SECTION I. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter described in Lighting District No. 1-B, for the purpose of providing for the operation, maintenance and patrolling of arc lamps, to-wit: In Lots 5, 6, 7 and 8 of Blk. 40, Lots 1 and 2 of Blk. 51; Lots 5, 6, 7 and 8 of Blk. 56; Lots 5 and 6 of Blk. 57; Lots 5 to 8 incl. of Blk. 58; Lots 1, 2, 5 and 6 of Blk. 69; Lots 1 to 8 incl. of Blk. 70; Lots 1, 2, 5 and 6 of Blk. 71; Lots 1 to 4 incl. of Blk. 74; Lots 1, 2, 5 and 6 of Blk. 75; Lots 1 to 8 incl. of Blk. 76; and Lots 1 to 4 incl. of Blk. 88, and in part of Section 31, T. 1 N. R. 1 E., S.L.B.?c M., Plat A, Salt Lake City Serve/ abutting on the south side of South Temple, Main to West Temple Streets, both sides of South Temple, Main to State, both sides of let and 2nd South streets, West Temple to 2nd East streets and both sides of 4th South, Main to West Temple Streets in Salt Lake City. This tax is levied to aefray the expense of providing for the operation, maintenance and patrolling of arc lamps on the all night schedule (said lamps to be seven (7) four ampers luminous arc lamps along each side of said streets in each block of said district, 38 wi • fl for a period of one year from April 25, 1922 to April 25, 1923, and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that said property will be especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an equal and uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon and to the entire depth back therefrom and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of land is Five Thousand Two Hundred Twenty-two and 10/100 (45,222.1d) dollars or 0.482206/1000000 (40.482206) dollars per front or lin- 1 ear foot of abutting property, there being 10,829.61 feet abutting said portion of said improvement and the cost of which operation, maintenance and patrolling and the property benefited thereby is hereinafter set out, and all within the boundaries of the lots, blocks and streets above mentioned in said district, which is the ; total abutters' cost and cost per front feet of said improvement for a period of one year, according to the contract entered into j for the performance of said work and making said improvement with Utah :Power & Light Company, dated the 25th day of April, 1922, which is the date service began, said levy to date and be ef- fective from April 25, 1922, and the City treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to assess in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance, for the purpose herein mentioned: The north side of Lots 5 and 6, the north side of the west 119 feet of Lot 7, the north side of the east 146.19 feet of Block 40; Lot 8Jthe south side of Lots 1 and 2 of Blk. 51; the north side 1 of Lots 5 and 8, the north side of the west 66 feet and the east I 1 81 feet of Lot 6 and the north side of the west 51 feet and the east 84 feet of Lot 7, Blk. 56; the north side of Lots 5 and 6 of Blk. 57, the north side of Lots 5 to 8 incl. of Blk. 58; the sout1 aide of Lots 1 and 2, the north side of Lots 5 and 6 of Blk. 69; 1I1 the south side of Lot 1, the south side of the east 70 feet and I the west 79 feet of Lot 2, the south side of the east 16.58 feet 1 and the west 96.75 feet of Lot 3, the south side of the west - 2 - i•i , 153.71 feet of Lot 4, the north side of Lots 5, 7 and 8 and the north side of the west 112 feet and the east 2.23 feet of Lot 6, all of Blk. 70; , the south side of Lots 1 and 2 and the north side of Lots 5 and 6 of Bik. 71; the. south side of Lots 1 to 4 1 incl. of Bik. 74; the south side of the east 305 feet of Lot 1, the south side of Lot 2, the north side of Lots 5 and 6 of Blk. 7-; i the south side of Lots 3 and 4, the south side of the east 155.15 feet of Lot 1, the south side of the east 99 feet of Lot 2, the 1 north side of Lots 5 and 6, the north side of the east 99 feet of Lot 7 and the north side of the west 41 feet and the east 110 feet of Lot 8 Bik. 76; and the south side of Lots 1 to 4 inol.of all in Plat A, Salt Lake City Survey, also Blk. 8,.,/commencing at the southeast corner of Lot 1, Blk. 88, being a part of Sec.'31, T. 1 N., R. 1 E. S.L.B.B& M., Plat "A", thence east 33 feet�/ KB}i WAIMOffeltic as the same are shown upon the official plats of said city to the entire depth back from said streets, and to collect said tax. SECTION II. That the assessment list made by the City Treasurer, as corrected, approved and completed by the Board of Equalization and Review of the property described. in Seotion I of this ordinance in Lighting District No. 1-B of Salt Lake City, for the purpose of providing for the operation, maintenance and patrolling of arc lamps, is hereby confirmed, and the assessments made and returned in said completed lists, and the report of the Board of Equalization and Review to the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, are hereby ratified, approved and confirmed. SECTION III. Said tax shall be due in one payment. Said payment becomes delinquent and draws interest at the rate of twelve per cent per annum if not paid within fifteen.days from the time the ordinance levying the assessment becomes effec- tive.
