AN ORDINANCE VACATING ALLEY running east and west through
the center of Blk. 2, Gilmer Square Amended Plat, and running from
. 2- ;\-,the west line of 12th East Street westerly to a point where it inter-
sects with alley running north and south from Herbert to Yale Avenues.
--pkrBe it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
iiCity, Utah:
SECTION 1. That alley running east and west through the cen-
ter of Blk. 2, Gilmer Square Amended Plat, and running from the west
line of 12th East Street westerly to a point where it intersects with
alley running north and south from Herbert to Yale Avenues, more par-
ticularly described as follows:
Beginning at the northwest corner of Lot 20, Blk. 2,
Gilmer Square Amended Plat, a subdivision of Blk. 17-A, Five
Acre Plat SAlt, Big Field Survey, thence north 15.2 ft., thence
east 524.74 ft., thence southwesterly along a 139.26 ft. radius
curve to the left a distance of 17.58 ft. to the northeast cor-
ner of Lot 1 aforesaid Gilmer Square Amended Plat, thence west
516.13 ft. to the place of beginning;
be and the same is hereby vacated and declared no longer to be public
property for use as a street, avenue, alley or pedestrian way.
Said vacation is made expressly subject to the rights of
way and easements of the Utah Light & Traction Company and the Moun-
tain States Telephone & Telegraph Company acquired under franchises
from Salt Lake City to maintain, repair, alter and replace the el4c-
tric transmission, distribution of telegraph and telephone circuits,
lines, wires and poles of said companies, together with the neces-
sary stop cross-arms and other attachments thereat or affixed thereto
for the support of said electric telephone and telegraph lines, wires
and distribution circuits as now erected and maintained upon or across
the portion of said street to be closed, during the life of the fran-
chises held by said companies, or any extensions thereof.

SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners,
it is necessary to the health, peace and safety of the inhabitants
of Salt Lake City that this ordinance become effective immediately.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its
first publication.
