HomeMy WebLinkAbout38 of 1981 - Amending Chapter 16A of Title 20, by adding New Section 20-16A-6, relating to gold and silver retain SALT LAKE CITY ORDINANCE No. 38 of 1981 (Gold and Silver Retained in Original State for 30 Days) AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 16A OF TITLE 20 OF THE REVISED ORDINANCES OF SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, 1965, AS AMENDED BY ADDING NEW SECTION 20-16A-6, RELATING TO GOLD AND SILVER RETAINED IN ORIGINAL STATE FOR 30 DAYS. Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. That Chapter 16A of Title 20 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to scrap metal processors, be, and the same hereby is amended by adding new Section 20-16A-6, as follows: Sec. 20-16A-6. Gold and silver retained in original state for 30 days. It shall be unlawful for any scrap metal processor to deliver, sell, remelt, change the condition of, or otherwise dispose of any goods, articles or things containing gold or silver for a period of thirty days from the date of receiving same. If requested to do so by a police officer, any item must be retained and held, in the condition received, until released by the police department. SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect 30 days after its first publication. Passed by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah, this 19th day of May _, 1981. ( � 6 � .
