759, said Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, 1913, as amended

1916, relating to the Police Department.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt
lake City, Utah.
Section 1. That Section 950, Revised Ordinances of
l.alt Lake City, 1913, as amended by an ordinance passed by the
:oard of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, July 31, 1918, be
d same is hereby amended so as to read as follows:
Section 950. The Police Department of Salt Lake City
shall consist of the following officers whose annual salaries
shall be not to exceed the amounts stated.
Chief of Police, who shall be 3600.00
head of the Police Department
Inspector, with rank of Senior 2700.00
Captain
Chief of Detectives, who shall re- 2700.00
port directly to Chief of Police,
Two Captains, each 2000.00
Two Lieutenants, each 1860.00
Seven Sergeants, each
1740.00
Superintendent of Identification 1860.00

11, The Board of Commissioners may employ such other per- j
ons as it may deem necessary for the proper conduct of such j
epartment at such salaries as may be designated by said Board.
1 Section II. That Section 959, Revised Ordinances, 191;,
s amended by an ordinance passed by the Board of Commissioners, ;
. august 7, 1916, be and the same is hereby amended so as to read

:s follows: '
Section 959. Mounted policemen must provide their own!
4orses, horse equipment and horse feed under the direction and 1
subject totthe approval of the Chief of Police. An allowance of
I .ot more than Forty Dollars (040.00) per month shall be made to I
.
; each mounted policeman for the maintenance of said mount.
I Section III. In the opinion of the Board of Commissio1-
1:rs it is necessary to the peace, health and safety of the in- I
!p abitants of Salt Lake City that this ordinance become effective
