Result
AN ORDINANCE LEVYING A TAX and for the assessment of pro-
perty in Lighting District No. 7-C, for the purpose of providing for
the operation, maintenance and patrolling of arc lamps and the fur-
nishing of electrical energy therefor.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Bait,.Lake
City, Utah: -
SECTION I. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt =Lake
City does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the
same upon the property hereinafter described in Lighting District
No. 7-C, for the purpose of providing for the operation, maintenance
and patrolling of arc lamps and the furnishing of electrical energy
therefor, to-wit:
Lots 1, 2, 3 and 4 of Blk. 56; Lots 5 and 6 of Blk. 53;
Lots 1, 2, 3 and 4 of Blk. 58; Lots 1 and 2 of Blk. 57; Lots
5 and 6 of Blk. 51; and Lots 5, 6, 7 and 8 of Blk. 52; all in
Plat "A", Salt Lake City Survey, abutting on both sides of
Third South Street from West Temple Street to Second East Street
in Salt Lake City.
This t.az is levied to defray the expense of providing for
the operation, maintenance and patrolling of arc lamps and furnish-
ing with electrical energy forty-two ornamental standards, twenty-
eight of which between West Temple and State Streets are equipped
with three 6.6 ampere luminous arc lamps, and fourteen of which be-
tween State and Second East Streets are equipped with two 6.6 ampere
luminous arc lamps, (said arc lamps to be one hundred twelve (112)
in number), one hundred lamps to operate on the midnight schedule
and th:be supplied with electric current for the Illumination of the
same each night from fifteen minutes before dark until midnight, and
the remaining twelve lamps to ape ate on the a118night schedule (the

cost of operation of the all night lamps being Nine Thousand,
Eight Hundred Seventy-eight and 71/100 ($9,878.71) Dollars and
same to he paid for by the city), for a period of ten years from
October 5, 1934, to October 5, 1944, said lamps to be illuminated
by electric current; the circuits for the operation of said system
of lamps to be underground, and the portions of said streets oppo-
site the property hereinhefore and hereinafter described to be
especially affected. and benefited by said improvement, and it is
hereby adjudged, determined and established that said property will
be especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax here-,
by levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an equal
and uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon
and to the entire depth of the same ownership back therefrom not ex-
iceeding 330 feet, and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon
said parcels of land is Fifty-two Thousand Four hundred thirty ands
85/100 ($52,430.85 Dollars; Thirty-nine Thousand Eight Hundred
•Forty-seven and 45/100 ($39,847.45) Dollars on account of the main-
tenance, patrolling and operation of twenty-eight standards between
each
West Temple and State StreetsAto he equipped with three 6.6 ampere
luminous arc lamps, or Fifteen and 151121/1000000 ($15.151121) Dol-
lars per front or linear foot of abutting property, there being
2630.0 feet abutting said portion of said Improvement, and Twelve
Thousand Five Hundred Eighty-three and 40/100 ($12,583.40) Dollars
on account of the maintenance, patrolling and operation of fourteen
each
standards between State Street and :second East Streetnto be equip-
ped with two 6.6 ampere luminous arc lamps, or Nine and 830781/100)0 00

there being 1280.E feet abutting said portion of said improvement,
and the cost of which operation, maintenance, patrolling and furnisz-
ing of electrical energy and the property benefited thereby is here-
inafter set out, and all within the boundaries of the lots, blocks
land streets above mentioned in said district, which is the total
abutters' cost and cost per front foot of said improvement according
•to the contract entered into for the performance of said work and
making scid. improvement with Utah Power & Light Company, dated the
27th day of December, 1934, said levy to date and. be effective from
October 5, 1934, which is the date service began, and the City
Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed. to assess in accordance
with the provisions of this ordinance, for the purpose herein men- I
tioned:

of Lot 3, the East 77 feet of Lot 3, the hest 50 feet of Lot 2, the'

Purvey.
On the south side: All of Lots 5 and 6 of Elk. 53, Plat
"A", Salt Lake City Survey:

On the north side: All of Lots 1, 3 and 4 of Elk. 58,
the West 155 ft. of Lot 2, Elk. 58, and all of Lots 1 and 2 of
Blk. 57; Plat "A", ,Salt Lake City Purvey.
On the south side: All of Lots 5 and 6 of Elk. 51, and
all of LotsA7 and 8 of Blk. 52, Plat "A", Salt Lake City Survey;
as the same are shown upon the official plats of said city to the
entire depth of the same ownership back from said street and to
collect said tax.
SECTION II. That the assessment list made by the City
Treasurer, as corrected, approved and completed by the Board. of
Equalization and Review of the property described in Section I of
this ordinance in Lighting District No. 7-C of Salt Lake City for
the purpose of providing for the operation, maintenance and patrol-
ling of arc lamps and furnishing with electrical energy, is hereby
confirmed, and the assessments made and returned in said completed '
lists and the report of the Board of Equalization and Review to the
Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City are hereby ratified, ap-
proved and confirmed.

SECTION III. Said tax shall be payable in advance in ten
equal yearly installments, as provided by law and ordinance with
interest on the whole sun unpaid at seven per cent per annum until '
due and thereafter at the rate of ten per cent per annum until paid;
provided., however, that one or more of such installments in the
(order payable, or the whole tax may be paid without interest within
fifteen (15) days from the date this ordinance becomes effective, and
je.ny such payments ithin said fifteen (15) days will be allowed also
a. discount of three per cent (3%). One or moreilnstallments in the

after its first publication.
