AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1829 of the Revised
Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1944, relating to city eb6111,::r.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That Section 1829 of the Revised Ordinances of
Salt Lake City, Utah, 1944, relating to city engineer, be and the same
is hereby amended to read as follows:
"SEC. 1829. CITY CHEMIST. There is hereby establisncd l..
the Department of Streets and Public Improvements of Salt Lake
City the office of City Chemist. The Board of Commissioners
shall appoint and employ a competent and qualified chemist at a
salary not to exceed $3120.00 per annum, who shall be in charge
of said office, and whose duties it shall be to perform all
chemical analytical work required by the city and to perform
such other duties as the Board of Commissioners of said city
may require."
SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners, it
�, is necessary to the peace, health and safety of the inhabitants of
Salt Lake City that this ordinance shall take effect immediately.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect at once upon -
its first publication.
