AN ORDINANCE AMENDING Paragraph 1 of Section 18-1-9 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1955, as amended, relating to Organiza- tion and Salaries of Officers, Assistants and Employees of the Board of Health. Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah; SECTION 1. That the First Paragraph of Section 18-1-9 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1955, as amended, relating to Organiza- tion and Salaries of Officers, Assistants and Employees of the Board of Health be, and the same hereby is, amended to read as follows: "Sec. 18-1-9. Organizations and Salaries. The Health Depart- ment shall consist of the following officers, assistants and em- ployees who, except the Health Commissioner and members of the Board of Health, shall be appointed by the appointing power, sub- ject to the approval of the Board of City Commissioners, from the certified list of the Civil Service Commission of Salt Lake City for each such office or position to be filled, and each such office or position or employee shall receive salaries, payable semi-monthly, with beginning monthly salaries not to exceed the amounts shown in the first column of the following table. Merit ingrade salary in- creases shall be given such officers, assistants and employees every twelve months thereafter not to exceed the total monthly sal- aries shown in the succeeding columns from left to right, each such succeeding column representing an additional twelve month ingrade salary increase." SECTION 2. The foregoing provisions in respect to ingrade salary increases shall become effective May 25, 1961. SECTION 3. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, it is necessary to the peace, health and safety of the inhabitants of Salt Lake City, Utah that this ordinance become effective immediately. SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first publication.
