AN ORDINANCE AMENDING Section 25-4-6(e) of the Revised Ordinances of
Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, as amended, relating to uniform allowance.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That Section 25-4-6(e) of the Revised Ordinances of Salt
Lake City, Utah, 1965, as amended, relating to uniform allowance, be, and
the same hereby is, amended to read as follows:
(e) Uniform allowance. In addition to the salaries herein
provided for the members of the fire department, police depart-
ment and health department, each officer and employee of said
departments, and the Chief Security Guard and each Security Guard
assigned to the Salt Lake City International Airport, who is re-
quired to wear a uniform shall receive the sum of $15.00 per month
as a uniform allowance, provided, however, that the personnel of
the police department required to wear a uniform and who are ass-
igned to duty in the K-9 Corps, the motorcycle patrol and plain-
clothesmen, and personnel of the fire department required to wear
a uniform and who are assigned to duty as Fire Prevention Bureau
inspectors, shall receive an additional uniform allowance of $16.00
per month, a total of $31.00 per month, in view of the extra haz-
ards to uniform involved in such assignment; provided further that
personnel of the police department and fire department holding the
rank of lieutenant or captain shall not receive the $16.00 per
month additional uniform allowance above provided for.
SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners it is necessary
to the peace, health and safety of the inhabitants of Salt Lake City that this
ordinance become effective immediately.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first publication.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, this
10th day of April, 1969.
