An ordinance amending Section 1227, Revised
Ordinances of Salt Lake City as amended by an ordinance passed
by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, July 31, 1918.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of
Salt Lake City, Utah:

SECTION I. That Section 1227, Revised Ordinances
of Salt Lak.e City, 1913, as amended by an ordinance passed
.y the Board of Commissioners July 31, 1918, be and the same
;s hereby amended to read as follows:
Section 1227. CHIEF CLERK. SALARY. OATH.
BOND, ETC. There is hereby created the office of
chief clerk in the department of streets and public
improvements.
The Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City,
Utah, may appoint a competent person to the office of
chief clerk in the Department of Streets and Public
Improvements, who shall receive a salary of not to
exceed 01800.00 per annum payable monthly, and who
shall perform such duties as may be prescribed by
the Board of Commissioners and the Commissioner of

Streets and Public Improvements.
The chief clerk in the Department of Streets and
Public Improvements shall, before entering upon the duties
of his office, subscribe the constitutional oath of office,]
and give bond to Salt Lake City in the sum of 4,000.00,
cciditioned as provided by law.

SECTION II. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners
it s necessary to the peace, health and safety of the City that)

SECTION III. This ordinance shall become effective 1
upon its publication..
