AN ORDINANCE AMENDING Section 1314, Revised Ordinances
of Salt Lake City, 1920, with reference to license of Scavengers.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah.
SECTION I. That Section 1314, Revised Ordinances of
Salt Lake City, 1920, with reference to license of Scavengers, be,
and the same is,hereby amended to read as follows:
Section 1314. SCAVENGERS. It shall be unlawful
for any person to engage in the business of removing or
hauling through the streets of Salt Lake City any garbage,
market waste, trade waste, night-soil, or the contents of
privies, vaults, water-closets, cesspools or grease traps,
without first securing a permit from the Board of Health
and obtaining a license so to do.
The license fee, which shall be paid before the
issuance of any license, shall be as follows:
For the removing or hauling of night-soil, or the
contents of privies, vaults, cesspools or grease traps, the
dollars
sum of Twenty-five ( 25.00f per year for each vehicle used.
For the removing or hauling of garbage, market waste,
and similar refuse, Fifty ( 50.00) dollars per year for each
vehicle used.
For the removing or hauling of trade waste or similar
refuse Fifty ($50.00) dollars per year for each vehicle used.

The License Assessor and Collector shall not
issue any lioense as provided for herein unless the
applicant therefor shall exhibit to said License Assessor
and Collector a permit duly issued by the Board of Health
to such person showing the approval of said Board of Health
of the conveyance or receptacle to be used in the trans-
porting of such waste material.
y SECTION II. Any person convicted of violating any,
proviiiozi of this ordinance shall be punished as provided in:
(Section 7, Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, 1920.
'SI'O ION III. In the opinion of the Board of Com-
, .issioners, £t is necessary to the peace, health and safety
lof the 4,nhabitants of Salt Lake City that this ordinence_beoome
=ffective immediately.
SECTION IV. This ordinance shall take effect upon
publication.
