Green Stewart Mr. Chairman Result AN ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE LEVYING A TAX and for the assessment of pro- perty in Sidewalk District No. 44 (Sidewalk Extension No. 214) for the purpose of constructing concrete sidewalk. BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION I. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter described in Sidewalk District No. 44 (Sidewalk Extension No. 214) for the purpose of constructing concrete sidewalk, to-wit: In Lot 1, Highland Park, Plat D, Blk. 46, 10 Acre Plat A, Lots 1577, 1650, 1651, 1724, 1725 and 1798 of Hi gbland Park, Plat A, of S. W. 4 of Sec. 21, T. 1 S., R. 1 E., S.L.B.& M., Lots 9 and 10 of Blk. 27, 10 Acre Plat A, Lot 55, Blk. 1, Highland Park Plat C, Commencing at the Highland Park northeast corner of Lot 55, Blk. J Plat C, running thence East 176.8 feet of S. W. 4 of Sec. 21 T. 1 S., R. 1 E., S.L. B. & M., Lots 1 and 33 to 56 incl. of Blk. 1, Hillcrest Add. of Blk. 28, 10 Acre Plat A, Big Field Survey, abutting on the north side of 27th South from the Jordan & Salt Lake Canal to Filmore, and on the south side from the Jordan and Salt Lake City Canal to Blythe Street, and the West side of llth East from 27th South to Atkin Avenue. This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing concrete sidewalk five (5) feet wide and four (4) inches thick, with 41 !31 three and one-quarter (34) inch base and three-quarter (i) inch topping, upon the portions of said streets opposite the property hereinbefore and hereinafter described to be especially affected and benefited by said improvement, and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that said property will be especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an equal and uni- form rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon said portions of said streets, fronting upon and to the entire depth back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of land is „i r',,;,;; .•:- ::_: Thirty-nine Hundred. Nine and 14/100 ( 3909.14 or One and 45/100 ( 1.45) dollars per front or linear foot of abutting property, there being 2695.96 ft. of abutting property within the boundaries of the lots, block and street above mention, in said district, which is the total abutters' cost and cost per front foot of said sidewalks, according to the contract entered into for the performance of said work and making said improve- ment with J. L. Griffith Co. and W. H. Burnside, dated the 13th day of April, 1922, and the City Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to assess in accordance with the provisions of this ordinanoe, for the purpose herein mentioned: • The south side of Lot 1, Highland Park, Plat D of Blk. 46, 10 Acre Plat A, the south side of Lots 1577, 1650, 1651, 1724, 1725 and 1798, Highland Park, Plat A, SW4 Sec. 21 T. 1 S., R. 1 E., S.L.B.& M.,the north side of the east 82.5 feet of Lot 9 and the north side of the west 346.5 feet of Lot 10, Blk. 27, 10 Acre Plat A, the north side of Lot 55, Blk. 1, Highland Park, Plat 0, Commencing at the N.E. corner of Lot 55, Blk. 1, Highland. Park, Plat C, running thence East 176.8 feet, SW4 Sec. 21, T. 1 S., R. 1 E., S.L.B.& M.,the east side of Lots 1 and 33 to 56 incl. of Blk. 1, Hillcrest Add. of Blk. 28, 10 Acre Plat A, Big Field Survey, as the same are shove upon the official plats of - 2 - 3 1> i` 1 is said city to the entire depth of said parcels of land and to collect said tax. SECTION II. That the assessment list made by the City Treasurer, as corrected, approved and completed by the Board of Equalization and Review of the property described in Section I of this ordinance in Sidewalk District No. 44 (Sidewalk Extension No. 214) of Salt Lake City, for the purpose of constructing a sidewalk upon said portion of said streets, is hereby confirmed, and the assessments made and returned in said completed lists, and the report of the Board of Equalization and Review to the Boar. of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, are hereby ratified, approved and confirmed. SECTION III. Said tax shall be payable in five equal yearly installments as provided by law and ordinance with in- terest on the whole sum unpaid at the rate of six per cent per annum, payable at the time each installment is due. In the event any installment or the interest aforesaid is not paid on the day the same becomes due, the whole amount of the speoial tax unpaid at the time said installment and interest are due, shall become due and payable, and shall draw interest at the rate of twelve per cent per annum until the sale of the property assessed.
