AN ORDINANCE VACATING alley east of 14th East Street
between Elaine Avenue and Wilson Avenue in Block 2, Progress

Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt
Lake City, Utah:
• SECTION I. That alley east of 14th East Street between
Blaine Avenue and Wilson Avenue in Block 2, Progress Heights, in
qtElk. 10, 5-Acre Plat IC', Big Field Survey, more particularly de-
y'"6 scribed as follows:
Beginning at the S.W.Cor. of Lot 11, Block 2,
Progress Heights, in Block 10, 5-Acre Plat ICI,
Big Field Survey, and running thence east along the
south side of Lots 11 to 2 incl. of said Blk. 2,
419.50 ft. to the S.W.Cor. of Lot 1, said Blk. 2;
thence south 12.0 ft.; thence west along the south
side of a 12.0 ft. alley, 419.50 ft.; thence north
12.0 ft. to the S.W. Cor. of said Lot 11 and the
place of beginning;
be and the same is hereby vacated and declared no longer to be pub-
lic property for use as a street, avenue, alley or pedestrian way.
Said vacation is made expressly subject to the rights of
way and easements of the Utah Light & Traction Company and the Moun-
tain States Telephone & 'Telegraph Company Company acquired under fran-
chises from Salt Lake City to maintain, repair, alter and replace the
electric transmission, distribution of telegraph and telephone cir-
cuits, lines, wires and poles of said companies, together with the
necessary stop cross-arms and other attachments thereon or affixed
thereto for the support of said electric telephone and telegraph lines,
wires and distribution circuits as now erected and maintained upon or
across the portion of said street to be closed, during the life of the
franchises held by said companies, or any extensions thereof.
SECTION 2. In the opinion{ of the Board of Commissioners, it

is necessary to the health, peace and safety of the inhabitants
of Salt Lake City that this ordinance become effective immediately.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its
first publication.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City,
Utah, this lG day of A.D.(P-.6_,.11,)- �___� 1940.
