AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2901 of the Revised Ordinances
of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1944, as amended by ordinances passed by the
Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, relating to the Fire
Department.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That Section 2901 of the Revised Ordinances of
Salt Lake City, Utah, 1944, as amended by ordinances passed by the
Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, on July 22, 1944;
July 3, 1945; February 7, 1946; January 28, 1947; November 12, 1947;
December 15, 1948;, May 10, 1949; January 10, 1950; July 11, 1950;
August 8, 1950; and April 3, 1951; relating to the Fire Department,
be and the same is hereby further amended to read as follows:
"SEC. 2901. ORGANIZATION AND SALARIES. The Fire Department
of Salt Lake City shall consist of the following officers, whose
salaries shall be fixed by the Board of Commissioners, within the
limits specified as follows:
Per Annum.
Chief of Department
Four Assistant Chiefs 740.00
Superintendent of Fire and Police Alarm . 4500.00
Four Battalion Chiefs 4500.00
Captains , 4200.00
Lieutenants 3960.00
Firemen, left Grade 3780.00
All applicants for Firemen, 1st Grade, shall have served
fifteen years in the Fire Department.
Firemen, 2nd Grade, $3600.00
All applicants for firemen, 2nd grade, shall have served
ten years in the Fire Department.
Firemen, 3rd Grade $3420.00
All applicants for Firemen, 3rd Grade, shall have served

three years in the Fire Department.
Per Annum.
Firemen, 4th Grade $3240.00
Firemen, 5th Grade 3120.00
Firemen, 6th Grade . 3000.00
Female Alarm Operators, 1st Grade 2700.00
Electricians, 1st Grade 3816.00
All applicants for electricians, 1st Grade, shall have
served fifteen years in the Fire Department.
Electricians, 2nd Grade $3644.00
All applicants for electricians, 2nd grade, shall have
served ten years in the Fire Department.
Electricians, 3rd Grade $3472.00
All applicants for electricians, 3rd Grade, shall have
served three years in the Fire Department.
Electricians, 4th Grade $3300.00
SECTION 2.:: lin the opinion of the Board of Commissioners,
it is necessary to the peace, health and safety of the inhabitants
of Salr' Lake City that this ordinance shall take effect immediatel .
