Result AN ORDINANCE
An ordinanoe amending Seotion 522 of the Revised Ordinances of
Salt Lake City, 1913, as contained in Chapter 8, known as the Build-
ing Ordinance.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City,
Utah:
SECTION 1. That Section 522 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt
Lake City, 1913, as contained in Chapter 8, known as the Building
Ordinance, be, and the same is, hereby amended so as to read as
follows:
Sec. 522. Height, eto. The height of any tenement house here-
after erected, exclusive of any roof or appendages, shall not
exceed one hundred (100) feet, nor one and a half times the
width of the street, alley or court on which it abuts, except
is
that any distance the building/set back from the lot line shall
be added to the width of the street, alley or court in making
this computation, and provided that no such tenement house shall
be over three (3) stories high, unless it is a building of Class
"A" or Glass "B". No existing tenement shall be increased be-
yond the height specified in this section.
Provided further, that such tenement houses may be of Class "0"
construction, and four stories high, but not exceeding fifty-
five (55) feet in height, when the building is not more than
thirty-five (35) feet in depth from front to rear, and when each
apartment shall extend from front to rear and have front and
rear entrances.
Not more than two apartments shall be permitted on each floor.
In case such building is divided into sections, not more than
two apartments shall be permitted on each floor in any one
section; each section shall have independent front and rear
entrances, and fire walls extending without openings from the
ground to not less than three (3) feet above the roof shall
divide each two sections.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take feot upon its first
publication.
