AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 566 of the Revised Ordinances
of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1934, relating to fire marshal.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That Section 566 of the Revised Ordinances of
Salt Lake City, Utah, 1934, relating to fire marshal, be and the same
is hereby amended to read as follows:
SEC. 566. COMBUSTIBLES ON ROOFS, IN YARDS, ON VACANT
LOTS, STORED IN BUILDINGS, BONFIRES, BURNING OF RUBBISH ON
STREETS, ETC. It shall be unlawful for any person to allow or
permit to remain upon the roof of any building owned or occupied
by him under his control or in any yard or vacant lot in Salt
Lake City owned or occupied by him or under his control, any
accumulation of paper, hay, straw, moss, shavings, rags, wool
or other inflammable or combustible material; or to keep, store,
or allow any explosive or combustible material to remain within
any building owned or occupied by him or under his control, in
such a manner th
at ready ingress and egress is interfered with,
or to start or cause any fire to be started outside of any build-
ing inside the fire limits of Salt Lake City for the purpose of
burning any rubbish or refuse material whatsoever; or to ignite,
set fire to or burn any manure, kitchen garbage or leaves at any
time within the city limits; provided, however, that leaves, rub-
bish, paper and other combustible material may be burned outside
the limits of fire zones, Numbers One and Two, between the hours
of 6 o'clock A. M. and 3 oTclock P. M.
SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners, it
is necessary to the pease, health and safety of the inhabitants of '

Salt Lake City that this ordinance shall take effect Immediately.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect at once upon
its first publication.
