AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER XXII of the Revised Ordinances
of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1934, by adding in and to said Chapter a new
Section to be known as Section 530X1, establishing in the Fire De-
partment of Salt Lake City the offices of first, second and third
class electricians.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That Chapter XXII of the Revised Ordinances of
Salt Lake City, Utah, 1934, be and the same is hereby amended by add-
ing in and to said Chapter a new Section to be known as Section 530X1,
establishing in the Fire Department of Salt Lake City the offices of
first, second and third class electricians, which section shall read
as follows:
"SEC. 530X1. There is hereby established in the Fire De-
partment of Salt Lake City the offices of first, second and third
class electricians. It shall be the duty of officers appointed to
such offices to maintain the police and fire alarm and signal sys-
tems and the semiphore traffic signal system and to perform such
other electrical work as shall be necessary in the police and fire
departments.
The offices hereby established shall be under the classi-
fied civil service of said city and officers appointed to such of-
fices shall be subject to the rules and regulations of the Fire De-
partment and work under the direction of the Chief of said depart-
ment.
The officers appointed to the following offices shall be
entitled to salaries, determined by the Board of Commissioners, as
follows, to-wit:
Not to exceed
Third class electrician. . 41p . $1740.00 per annum

SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners,
it is necessary to the peace, health and safety of the inhabitants
