AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 51-12-2 OF THE REVISED
ORDINANCES OF SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, 1965, RELATING TO ZONING AND
FIXING BOUNDARIES OF USE DISTRICTS.
WHEREAS, in response to the request for a change of zoning
initiated by Jim P. Hansen, said request being known as Petition
No. 2 of 1981 , the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah, has held
public hearings before its own body and before the Planning
Commission, has taken into consideration citizen testimony,
planning and demographic data, and on-site inspection of the
areas as part of its deliberations. Pursuant to these
deliberations, said Council has concluded that the proposed
rezoning within the Sugarhouse neighborhood to change from a
residential district to a commercial district classification is
appropriate to enlarge the existing Commercial "C-3” zoning on
the north side of 2100 South by an additional thirty feet.
THEREFORE, the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah, hereby
adopts the following amendments to the Use District provisions in
Title 51.
Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the Use District Maps, as adopted by
Section 51-12-2 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City,
Utah, 1965, relating to the fixing of boundaries of use
districts, be, and the same hereby is, amended as follows:
Sec. 51-12-2. Boundaries of Districts. That the following-
described parcel of residential land in Salt Lake City, Utah,
generally located north of and abutting the business district of
the Sugarhouse community, located at 1179-1200 East at 2100
South, currently zoned Residential "R-6", is hereby rezoned to
enlarge the existing commercial district by adopting a Commercial
"C-3" classification, and the "Use District Map" is amended and
changed accordingly.
"R-6" to Commercial "C-3":
BEGINNING at a point on the west line of 1200 East
Street; said point being 383.0 feet north and 35.0
feet, more or less, West of the southeast corner of
Lot 2, Block 1-A, 5-acre Plat "A", Big Field Survey;
thence North 30.0 feet along the West line of 1200
East Street; thence West 345.78 feet; thence South
30.0 feet; thence East 345.78 feet, more or less, to
the point of Beginning.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect thirty (30)
days after the date of its first publication.
Passed by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah,
this 2nd day of June , 1981.
