Result AN ORDINANCE
An Ordinance amending Sections 1328 and 1330 of Chapter
61, Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, 1913, relating to the
Department of Water Supply and Waterworks as amended by an ordi-
nance passed by the Board of Commissioners July 31, 1918.
Be it ordained by the Board of Connnissioners of Salt
Lake City, Utah:
SECTION I. That Sections 1328 and 1330 of Chapter 61,
Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, 1913, as amended by an
ordinance passed by the Board of Commissioners July 31, 1918, be
and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
Section 1328. The Board of Commissioners of
Salt Lake City, Utah, may appoint a competent person to
the office of Superintendent of Waterworks, who shall re-
ceive a salary of not to exceed ?:3,000.00 per annum; and
a competent person as Assistant Superintendent of Water-
works, who shall receive a salary of not to exceed '.2,400.00
per annum, said salaries payable monthly.
The Board of Commissioners may authorize and re-
quire the City Engineer to act as Superintendent of Water-•
works without compensation in addition to his salary as such
City Engineer.
Section 1330. The Board of Commissioners may ap-
point and employ in the Department of Water Supply and Water-
works, the following assistants, clerks and employes:

One chief clerk at a salary not to exceed
1800.00 per annum, who shall, before assuming the duties
of his office, take and subscribe the constitutional oath
of office, and shall give a bond to Salt Lake City in the
sum of 1,000.00, conditioned as required by law; one
assessor at a salary not to exceed 2,280.00 per annum,

who shall, before assuming the duties of his office, take
and subscribe the constitutional oath of office, and shall
give a bond to Salt Lake City in the sum of 5,000:00, con-
ditioned as required by law; and such stenographers, clerks,
foremen, pipemen, mo Ormecn. machinists, blacksmiths and
employes as may be necessary-„for the proper conduct of
such department, at such compensation as may be determined
by the Board of Commissioners.
SECTION II. In the opinion of the Board of Commission-
ers it is necessary to the peace, health and safety of the City
that this ordinance become effective,immediately.
SECTION III. This ordinance shall take effect upon
its publication.
