Green WPM Mr. Chairman Result AN ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE AMENDING Section 1099, Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1920, relating to commission of an employment agent. BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION I. That Section 1099, Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1920, relating to commission of an employment agent, be, and the same is, hereby amended to read as follows: Section 1099, Commission Limited. It shall be unlaw- ful for any employment agent to receive as commission, directly or indirectly, for information or assistance such as described in Section 1097, any money or other consideration which is in value in excess of eight per cent of the amount earned, or prospectively to be earned, by the person to whom such informa- tion sis furnished, through the medium of the employment regard- ing which such information or assistance is given, during the first month of such employment; provided, that said value of said commission shall not be in excess of eight per cent of the amount actually prospectively to be earned in such employment when it is mutually understood by the agent and person mentioned in this section, at the time when said information or assistance is furnished that said employment is to be for a period of less than one month; provided, however, that the above limitation shall not apply to any employment agent operating agencies for school teachers, but it shall be unlawful for any school teachers i ti employment agency to receive,for information or assistance such as described in this chapter, any consideration which is in value in excess of five per cent (5%) of the amount of the first year's salry of the person to whom such in- formation is furnished. SECTION II. In the opinion of the Board of Commissio'- i ers, it is necessary to the peace, health and safety of the : inhabitants of Salt Lake City that this.ordinance become effect ve immediately. SECTION III:, ;This ordinance Shall take effect upon publication. Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, this 8th' day of June A.
