AN ORDINANCE LEVYING A TA[ and for the assessment of proper-
ty in Sewer District No. 2 (Sewer Extension No. 357) for the purpose
of constructing a sewer.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of Salt
Lake City, Utah:
SECTION I. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the
same upon the property hereinafter described in Sewer District No.
2, tSewer Extension No. 357) for the purpose of constructing a sewer,
to-wit:
Lots 1 to 27 incl. and 29 to 56 incl. Bik. 1,
Lots 1 to 5 incl., 26 and 27 and 29 to 56 incl., Block 2 of
City Park Sub. of Blk. 21; Lot 17, Blk. 3, Lots 20 to 31 incl.
Blk. 4, Lot 22 of Blk. 5 of City Park Sub. of Blk. 20; Lots
13 and 1 to 11 incl., Blk. 6, Lots 1,2 and 4 to 38 incl.,
Blk. 7, Lots 1 to 29 incl., Blk. 8 of City Park Sub. of Blk.
29; Lots 1, 2 and 30, Blk. 9, Lots 1, 2 and 4 to 55 incl.,
Blk. 10 of City Park Sub. of Blk. 28, all in Plat C, Salt Lake
City Survey, abutting on both sides of 5th South from 8th West
to Jordan River, west side of 8th West from 4th South to a point
606 feet south and from 5th to 6th South Sts, west side of ally

This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing
a vitrified pipe sewer from eight (8) inches in diameter to
fifteen (15) in diameter, including manholes, flushtanks and "Y"
junctions, all complete, upon the portions of said streets op-
posite the property hereinbefore and hereinafter described to be
especially affected and benefited by said improvement and it is
hereby adjudged, determined and established that said property
will be especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the
tax hereby levied and said parcels of land are hereby assessed
at a uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage
upon said portions of said streets fronting upon and to the entir
depth of said parcels of land back therefrom, and the tax hereby
levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of land is Seventeen
Thousand Nine Hundred Sixty-one and 30/100 (y?17,961.30) dollars;
1 Two Thousand Seven Hundred Twenty-eight and 50/100 ($2728.50)
dollars or Four and 25/100 ($4.25) dollars per front or linear
foot of abutting property for full rate, there being 642 feet
abutting said improvement; Fifteen Thousand Two Hundred Thirty-
two and 80/100 (N16,232.80) dollars or Two and 20/100 (42.20)
dollars per front or linear foot of abutting property for
half rate, there being 6924 feet abutting said improvement, which

is the total abutters' cost and cost per front foot of said sewers
according to the contract entered into for the performance of said
work and making said improvement with John O'Connor, dated the 6th
day of December, 1921, and the Treasurer is hereby authorized and
directed to assess in accordance with the provisions of this
ordinance for the purposes herein mentioned:

SECTION II. That the assessment list made by the City
Treasurer, as corrected, approved and completed by the Board of
Equalization and Review of the property described in Seotion I
of this ordinance in Sewer District No. 2 (Sewer Extension No.
357) of Salt Lake City, for the purpose of constructing a sewer
upon said portion of said streets, is hereby confirmed, and the
assessments made ami returned in said completed lists, and the
report of the Board of Equalization and Review to the Board of
Commissioners of Salt Lake City, are hereby ratified, approved
and confirmed.
SECTION III. Said tax shall be payable in five equal
yearly installments as provided by law and ordinance with in-
terest on the whole sum unpaid at the rate of six per cent per
annum, payable at the time each installment is due. In the
event any installment or the interest aforesaid is not paid on
the day the same becomes due, the whole amount of the special

tax unpaid at the time said installment and interest are due,
shall become due and payable, and shall draw interest at the rate
of twelve per cent per annum until the sale of the property
assessed.
SECTION IV. This ordinance shall take effect one day
after its publication.
