AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2011 of the Uniform Build-
ing Code, 1946 Edition, as approved and adopted by Section 1301
of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1944, which
was amended by an ordinance passed by.the Board of Commissioners
of Salt Lake City, Utah, on th9; hlth day of September, 1946, and
designated as Bill Ng. 6,5c
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt
Lake City, Utah:
SECTION I. That Section 2011 of the Uniform Building
Code, 1946 Edition, as approved and adopted by Section 1301 of
the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1944, which was
amended by an ordinance passed by the Board of Commissioners of
Salt Lake City, Utah, on the llth day of September, 1946, and
designated as Bill No. 65, be and the same is hereby amended to
read as follows:
"SEC. 2011. Roof donstruction shall be of any Type of
Construction permitted for floors except where otherwise
required because of Occupancy in Part III.
Roof covering shall be a (Fire-Retardant' roofing as
specified in Section 3204; provided, however, that ordinary
roof construction as specified in Section 3204 will be per-
missible whenever the building is located outside of Fire
Zones No. One and No. Two and the slope of the roof of such
building will permit shingles."
SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners,
it is necessarytto the peace, health and safety of the inhabitants
of Salt Lake City that this ordinance become effective immediately.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its
