AN ORDINANCE AMENDING Chapter 4 of Title 32 of the Revised Ordinances
of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, by adding thereto a new section to be known
as Section 32-4-8, relating to removal of trade marks, identification
marks and serial numbers from manufactured items.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City,Uthh:
SECTION 1. That the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965,
be, and the same hereby is, amended by adding to Chapter 4 of Title 32, a
new section to be known as Section 32-4-8, relating to removal of trade
marks, identification marks and serial numbers from manufactured items, to
read as follows:
"Sec. 32-4-8. Articles from which trade mark removed,
misdemeanor. Any person who knowingly buys, sells, receives,
disposes of, conceals or has in his possession any manu-
factured item regularly bearing any manufacturer's trade
mark, identification mark, service mark, or serial number
from which such trade mark, identification mark, service
mark, or serial number has been removed, defaced, covered,
altered or destroyed with intent to deprive the owner of the
use or possession of the article, is guilty of a misdemeanor."
SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, it is necessary to the peace, health and safety of the inhabitants
of Salt Lake City that this ordinance become effective immediately.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first publication.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, this
2nd day of May, 1968. 1
